Make me your Dream Life 87,898 Posted November 30, 2019 Title. What I mean is, to get to the root of the meaning of the lyrics. Example: (Y& B:)Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Could mean, will you, still stay? "Fear fun, fear love. Fresh out of fucks forever. Trying to be stronger for you" -> I've been numb, but I'm trying to get out of that. "California: I'll throw a party" - > I want to celebrate you. Seems simple, but imo it's nice being able to simplify and find the root meanings in these. What have you guys noticed? I'll contribute more later.

Make me your Dream Life 87,898 Posted January 24, 2020 I know this low-key got nerfed, but to get this back. Taken from a post I made on another thread to get things on track: Real quick, this part in Young and Beautiful always get me:Dear Lord, When I get to heavenplease let me bring my man- When he comes, tell me that you'll let him inFather, tell me if you can That huge "if" in those lyrics always made me feel how delicate and uncertain it was, with all the love that she gives to him, that it's still a different thing for him to be able to go, as surely as she knows about herself. The contrast between her self-assuredness and the uncertainty of things. The respect of how she says it, all still conveying the possible tragedy of it all, and that split if heaven'd still be as meaningful. and how she continues to plead w him in the second part of the bridge- just so beautifully, softly desperate and breathtakingMore philo, back to the root of things sorts of meanings to her lyrics?
