Elle Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 (edited) Lana has just announced via instagram that she will be releasing a second poetry book titled "Behind the Iron Gates - Insights from an Institution" with publishing company Simon & Shuster with an aimed release of March 2021. This book will follow her first poetry book that is also pending for release titled "Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass." She is still planning to donate proceeds from the book to Native American foundations as she announced a few months back. Our busy bee has also announced in the same initial post that she will be releasing her next album on September 5th. anyway time to go back into hiding, but these announcements were just too exciting, I had to break free for a second! x Edited May 22, 2020 by Elle updated with title and release date 30 Quote • 4.18.14 • 5.1.14 • 9.20.14 • 5.28.15 • 6.14.15 • 7.28.16 • 7.24.17 • 10.23.17 • 10.24.17 • 1.25.18 • 2.5.18 • 12.5.18 • 10.3.19 • 10.11.19 • 11.16.19 • 8.6.23 • 9.21.23 • 10.1.23 • 5.17.24 • 5.19.24 • SF • ATL • ATL • IND • ATL • CHI • LDN • NYC • NYC • DC • ATL • NYC • PDX • SAN • KS • CHI • AL • MD • AL • AL
necessary sacrifice Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 I like that her books will be with Simon & Schuster, that’s Carly Simon’s family. It’s good to know the physical book is still coming and that a second one is coming too! Since she’s with a real publisher, the books will have to materialize eventually, so that’s also good news. I’m so glad I couldn’t sleep and checked my phone haha. 4 Quote

necessary sacrifice Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I’m mostly confused why she announced when the second poetry book is coming out before announcing when the first is coming out. Maybe closer to her album in the fall? Either way, I’m still looking forward to both. 2 Quote
sjatib Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Each thing she does makes less sense than the last one. By the way, the title sounds so much as Emilie Autumn's narrative. I wonder if she knows her and her work, always thought it would be a dream if Lana adhered to some radical feminist and artistic vision as Emilie's. 2 Quote
