genghis khan Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I have a question: From what I know ultraviolence(the song) is written in the c key. But I noticed when she sings the song live she sings A#3 which is normally out of key. But it doesn't sound bad nor it's a mistake cause on every show she sings like that. Does anybody know why? Did they changed the key or is it just an artistic choice? i feel like discussions of Lanas song in a more technical/musical manner might be worth its own thread 1 Quote
wthebluemascara Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Where is this picture from? Did she post it somewhere? She's so pretty 0 Quote ✧・゚:* ヽ(*・ω・)ノ*:・゚✧
Violets in Your Eyes Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Does anyone know the first time lana performed YCBTB and also the "fuck you hard" version of BTD? Also is there a thread for live versions of songs that are significantly different from the album versions (like the "rock" ones, stripped back ones, etc.)? 0 Quote
longtimeman Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Where is this picture from? Did she post it somewhere? She's so pretty It's from the Nylon Cover party, from November 2013. I can't remember if this particular photo was taken by Barrie or by a blogger, but there's details here: http://www.justjared.com/2013/11/02/lana-del-rey-nylon-cover-party-with-barrie-james-oneill/ https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/82993351.html 0 Quote
AnarKissed Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 In my most royal of Humble opinions, I perceive L.D.R. as a person who comes from some money. But who did, for the first major time when L.D.R. was sent away to boarding school, and subsequent times as well; a person who more than dipped her toes into the dark underbelly of the Amerikan dream...and God only knows what she truly found there, she only hints at what she experienced here and there in her Lizzy and L.D.R. song writing capability and talent. And this direct expression of a haunted Amerikan backdrop, makes the work at times irrelevant, at other times: Timeless, Classic, and Esoteric... 1 Quote
gasstationkween Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Does anyone know if lana ever followed her hair stylist Sheridan ward because I just checked his insta and thought it was strange that she didn’t follow him. 0 Quote i like your ultra-violent swing

It's weird there isn't a thread about her vocals when it's her main job lol we even have a thread about her breasts. 1 Quote

violets Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 is it worth buying from a discogs seller in EU being from the US? wont shipping be very high for me? 0 Quote
lamms Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 is it worth buying from a discogs seller in EU being from the US? wont shipping be very high for me? It depends on the seller. Some add insurance and what not to their parcels and it drives the prices up. E.g. from Germany to US shipping a package (<2kg, no insurance) is about 10$. I'd just check the international shipping fees of their country's postal service for reference. edit: lol nvm just saw DHL only offers premium for private people, which is insanely expensive (~38$) 1 Quote ???????, ??? ??? ?? ?? ???? ?????
partymonster Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 what do y'all think lana thinks about Francesco Carrozini marrying Bee Shaffer (daughter of Anna Wintour) - I remember watching a documentary about Francescos mother FRANCA, and she kept poking fun at Francesco saying he is always "in a dream state" and it made me think of Honeymoons "dreaming away your lifeeee" line. I do wonder why he was such a "player" and then all the sudden settled with Bee, I mean she even kinda looks like lana low-key. also at the MET gala when lana went with the group ( I bet it was a relief bc Francesco was there with Bee and I remember him looking very very stern in all photos, I wondered if he and lana spoke or saw each other) I was thinking this too. I only found out recently he got married to her and I had to look at how long they were together, sure it was longer than he was with Lana but didn’t him and Lana break up because she wanted to settle down and he didn’t? I wonder what changed. Anyway, I don’t know if there’s a thread for the weeknd but i can’t be bothered to go look for it. Does anyone know the name of the song, the little distorted vocal bit that begins to play at 0:39 but then suddenly cuts off? Every time i watch the video I’m like, I know this song, but I’m giving up. I don’t listen to him as much as i used to, is it a song by him? Maybe unrelased. But i know i’ve heard it before and it’s frustrating https://youtu.be/2iFa5We6zqw 1 Quote

Also, the most important advice of all, don't go for a cheap instrument, because it will be hard to play properly, and will put you off playing. If at all possible, get someone who knows how to play to go along with you when you buy your instrument, to try it out. 2 Quote

overlookglow Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Could anyone tell me where the Sirens artwork originated from? Did it leak alongside the album? Also, I've seen a few variations on filter/typeface, which is the 'original'? 1 Quote Yo, when are we getting the Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant re-release?
