I thought that it would've been a step forward in being vulnerable despite past experiences seeing as to how it might expose my living area and just knowing my whole life here, so I didn't think that was gonna be the main thing that'd be taken into account, instead of just what I wanted to let out if even thru comment form. Definitely not fully contained in the next 48 hours, huge fires like this can last for weeks. The main one will probably linger for a while before it gets fully contained. Not the end of LA, but it’s gonna be rough. It’s hard to say since new fires keep popping up but the winds are starting to die down and should hopefully be less crazy within the next day or two 3 Quote ♡︎

Or is it actually the end of LA? some progress has been made on the fires. the sunswept fire in studio city has been extinguished, the hurst fire has been 10% contained. but also, new fires appear to be popping up unpredictably. what it will ultimately come down to is how much the weather changes in the next few days and how much state and federal support comes in. biden is now focused on dealing with the fire so we'll see how much of a difference that makes against what is truly a fire of biblical proportions 0 Quote

I empathise, I also considered writing a comment on this thread relating to personal experience/family in the area also, but I did stop myself as I know all to well that sometimes things can be misconstrued on the forum and unfortunately it can feel like you’re getting dog piled when people don’t agree (which isn’t necessarily what is happening, but I think when we’re feeling low anyway, it definitely feels that way!) I don’t live in LA but I visit all the time and me and my boyfriend talk about wanting to move there. I love that city so much and it’s really heartbreaking watching this. And the fact that the High By The Beach house apparently burnt down is really sad, we lost an iconic place of LDR history. But it is way more heartbreaking and terrible for all the people and animals that live in such fear & horror right now and the ones losing their homes, friends and family. I hope the fires can get contained and that everyone is safe, this is all really sad to hear and I can't imagine at all how it must be to be there right now.
