It‘s not a far stretch to think she‘s inspired by those artists and the hyperpop „scene“ in general. I honestly saw something like this coming the day we got word she worked with SOPHIE. She does not half-ass these things. If she knows what she‘s doing she also knows that branch of pop music will work for her as her shtick has always been about pop, artifice, commercialism, authenticity and identity. So to me it‘s kind of the only logical point for her to pick pop music up again. I‘m excited.

With very late 90's/early 00's fashion, cyberpunk and vaporwave entering the mainstream in a big way her aesthetics for this era makes complete sense. I'm here for it 100%. We desperately need camp, high-octane theatrics to breathe new life into pop music. Its been too somber for waaaay to long     

 

Chromatica is a great name for an alter-ego or album tbh (Better yet both) For some reason it reminds of a modern take of Barbarella.

I found the leak and listened and don’t see how it’s relative to the video aesthetic. It doesn’t make any sense. And she’s about (5 years and) 2 weeks behind, she should released it for Valentine’s Day. It sounds like something you’d hear at a hair salon when your mom’s talking shit about her life to the hair stylist. It also sounds like an outtake from Artpop
