On the night of the concert I put on my black lace-up boots with high heels. Underneath them were ripped red fishnets. Then I put on a black leather minidress with all this corset stuff on the back and front. I put on matching fishnet on my arms. I straightened my hair and made it look all spiky. I felt a little depressed then, so I slit one of my wrists. I read a depressing book while I waited for it to stop bleeding and I listened to some GC.

 

You do not slit your wrists and then just wait for it to stop bleeding..

I've read a lot of shitty fan fiction in my day. Harry Potter fanfic has got to be some of the worst, though. If you want to laugh your head off for a couple hours and quote it for the rest of your life, I suggest reading My Immortal by Tara Gilesbie. There's even a drinking game. That's how gloriously bad it is. Not convinced yet? Allow me to summarize:

 

Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Tara Way is the biggest Mary Sue in existence. She is a vampire, a witch, a "goff" (her spelling of Goth) and is friendly with all the original characters of the Harry Potter series, who are also vampires, wizards and goffs. There's a Twilight-esque love triangle between her, Draco Malfoy and Harry "Vampire" Potter. Almost every character has been renamed or misspelled and renamed by proxy, with such lovely gems as Neville "Dracola" Longbottom, Ronald "Diabolo" Weasley and Hermione "B'loody Mary Smith" Granger. It's definitely M-rated, because of the ridiculous sex scenes ("He put his thingy in my you-know-what"), gratuitous cursing (Ebony tells a character to fuck off because they "probably have AIDS", at one point) and general awfulness.

 

It's widely considered to be the worst fanfic of all time, but it's probably one of the best things I've ever read. Do it with friends, if they're into it. Do it alone if they're not. Bottom line: Just do it.

Oh God, I adore this shitty fanfiction! It makes me laugh every time. Classic trollfic.

I read fanfiction from time to time - mosly short darkfics to series which I love (I don't want to spend hours reading fanfiction when I can read legitimate novels, sorry - I'm just not that invested). I love fanfiction that creatively explores dark plot points of original material... like Bellatrix x Voldemort HP fiction, etc. I'm a sucker for good, psychological story. I'm not really interested in porn.
