IamThatGirlLily 533 Posted August 18, 2013 The end of Lana Del Rey and the revival of Lizzy Grant? Married Lizzy with husband, children and no more music? Who knows, she says lots of weird stuff. Let's wait and see.

Hello Heaven 1,578 Posted August 20, 2013 I'm fairly certain it's related to Walt Whitman, who knows how much of a big deal this is going to be, but honestly I think a lot of us will feel very embarrassed looking back on this panic attack that she cast over Lanaboards. I'm not sure if she is the kind of person who 'ends an era' or associates her different albums etc as being 'eras' at all but that was also my initial reaction, not that I'm so sure now.
Creyk 11,717 Posted August 20, 2013 She just says goodbye before she goes on Hiatus to write her next album. Or it's just a reference to that poem.
MaryTeamLana 32 Posted August 21, 2013 She just says goodbye before she goes on Hiatus to write her next album. Or it's just a reference to that poem. Good-Bye My Fancy! by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)Good-bye my Fancy!Farewell dear mate, dear love! I'm going away, I know not where, Or to what fortune, or whether I may ever see you again, So Good-bye my Fancy. Now for my last--let me look back a moment; The slower fainter ticking of the clock is in me, Exit, nightfall, and soon the heart-thud stopping. Long have we lived, joy'd, caress'd together; Delightful!--now separation--Good-bye my Fancy. Yet let me not be too hasty, Long indeed have we lived, slept, filter'd, become really blended into one; Then if we die we die together, (yes, we'll remain one,) If we go anywhere we'll go together to meet what happens, May-be we'll be better off and blither, and learn something, May-be it is yourself now really ushering me to the true songs, (who knows?) May-be it is you the mortal knob really undoing, turning--so now finally, Good-bye--and hail! my Fancy.

That totally seems like something Lana would say, specially the first half of it.
whitman 1,286 Posted August 21, 2013 I would agree that Farewell maybe could refer to a poem by Whitman, but her tweet seemed really a...farewell. Like "thank you for inspiring me, love you all".

Divisive Princess 3,755 Posted August 21, 2013 At first I was hoping it was about a poem, but after actually reading it I'm anxious again.
whitman 1,286 Posted August 22, 2013 She also thanked everybody after she uploaded her video for Ride on YT. Yeah but it was in a different context. Just recently she said in a interview that she needs a break and then she mentions her short film as 'farewell project' and thanked everybody. How I've said before her tweet really seemed a farewell. Idk what it is, but it does not seem like she is mentioning a poem or something like that
