It is just as much of an independent song as Hawaiian Tropic is. The Man I Love only shares the Trash Magic chorus with TM. The instrumentation and the verses, plus the pre- chorus are completely different from each other. By the way... has the authenticity of that alleged Trash Magic demo ever been proven? It sounds horribly fanmade.
