This is so funny for me on a personal level. Like...  I'm not gonna say anything else on the subject, but just know this is the best thing that has happened that I've witnessed for the past several weeks x

KAT DAHLIA // MY GARDEN // FEBRUARY 2014

Kat Dahlia is the musical stage name of singer and songwriter Katriana Huguet. Dahlia was born in Miami Beach, Florida in 1991. Her parents were Cuban-Americans. She began writing songs at the age of 15. For musical backing she ripped from songs on YouTube. She left Miami for New York at 18 with her savings from a waitressing job. After living and working in N.Y.C., she issued an EP and music video that grabbed the attention of former Universal Motown boss Sylvia Rhone. Suitably impressed, she signed Dahlia to her Epic Records imprint, Vested in Culture, claiming she was a talented, ambitious, hard-to-pin cross between Nelly Furtado, Santigold, and Gwen Stefani. Dahlia's autobiographical first single, "Gangsta," is the subject of a video by director Samantha Lecca. Upon release it garnered substantial notice at YouTube, Vevo, MTV, and numerous hip-hop and urban music websites. The track was released as the A-side of a three-song EP on March 5, 2013 by VIC.

    Something interesting that I found.

That is the video that everyone thinks is the Carmen Demo. Look at the length. 3:36. The demo that we have is way off and so is the acapella. What I think:

1 - It is the unheard demo that Rebecca has
    2 - It's and unheard demo
3 - It isn't Carmen, it's something else. I went over my iTunes library and found that the 3rd Lolita demo, and the 1st TIWMUG demo are both 3:36. One of them maybe?

This song has actually always been kind of a banger but it hits different now. I would love for someone to add drums and more to it

Shoutout to my fellow oldsters who get the references.

I was listening to the fabulous Rich Whores recording of Yayo today, and it set me thinking about this song -- I think this is THE definitive Lana song.

It ought to speak to its incredible significance that it's been the ONLY consistent returner throughout nearly the entirety of Lana's career -- it was still new and shaky at the Union Pool show in June '07, and it's since reappeared time and time again, in demos, two studio albums, and live performances ranging from the Lizzy Grant club shows to the stadiums of LA to the Moon.

It's got all the signature Lana lyrical hallmarks: the color blue, bad boys, dependence, trailer parks, escape, hope, drugs, daddies, and a scoop of retro Americana. And, all along, it has changed shape to reflect Lana's current obsessions and styles: it's been an acoustic folk ballad, a heavy metal head-banger, a jazzy torch song, and a spooky, otherworldly laptop demo. It could fit on the kaleidoscopic debut album and the doomy pomp of Paradise just as well as it could slide into the confessional-surf sound of NFR!.

In short, it's everything Lana, with none of the era-specific quirks that restrict or date her other songs -- an absolutely gorgeous anomaly in her catalogue. It's sexy, it's sad, it's wild, it's cinematic, it's timeless.

    I'm in awe of Yayo.

Does anyone know all of the interviews where "The Revenge of Lana Del Rey" was mentioned as the supposed album title of BTD?

She listed titles like G.B.A, Do U Luv Me Yet? etc... in a blog interview, whereas I don't believe Lana ever mentioned the title The Revenge of Lana Del Rey herself.
Humblebrag  I believe I was actually the first person to post about the title after finding the artwork concepts in stranger records' photobucket account.

I actually consolidated a lot of different pieces of info that could relate to TROLDR 2 years ago and it paints a pretty strong picture of what it potentially could have been. Now I have nothing else to do during this pandemic I should finish it and publish it!

Unironically save your coins. For the cost of a lana ticket you could see like 4-6 local bands play their hearts out because they actually want to be on stage and put on a good show rather than be there out of obligation. Optionally, just do this:

    Where you heading anyway?

7+ months and I still cry every day like it's the first! Feel that x
  19. cartoon eyes liked a post in a topic by Elle in Queen of Disaster
So, Lana's team just removed a Queen of Disaster lyric video with over 18M views from YouTube that had been up since 2013. Even though it's unlikely, maybe this means they are planning to officially release the track? The song has been going absolutely viral lately on TikTok, with over 30K videos using the track accumulating over 30M total views. Even the top search followed by "Lana Del Rey" on YouTube is "Queen of Disaster." A few weeks ago, "Queen of Disaster" was trending on Apple Music.
Releasing it would be a super smart move and could be her biggest hit since Summertime Sadness, but I'm not sure if she'd release a super old track just because of its virality x

(ignore my grown out nails. I have an appointment to get them redone on Friday.)
There's a lot of treasures in this book I'll have to share, but out of everything, this page is my favourite. I know it's been around the Lanaverse for awhile and is nothing new to see, but while flipping through all of the senior pages, everyone had such long paragraphs except for Lana. All she offered was one line. It's so very "Lana" of her - but her simple one-line speaks more volumes than any of the other paragraphs. Even though it was a Jewel quote, it just shows how she can express the most sincere sentiments in the fewest of words x

As interesting as these are... I think LDR's high school year book takes the cake as your rarest thing you've got
  22. cartoon eyes liked a post in a topic by Trash Magic in A Star for Nick
Looking at her listed influences it seems absolutely no coincidence that she has two songs on her first demo album with the names Nick and Elliott... I think they are written fictionally about Nick Drake and Elliott Smith. We know how much she likes to wear her influences on her sleeve. Even (or especially) up to the present day. Dennis' last stop before Kokomo...

Edit: Ok I didn't even see Elle's post from 2 years ago.

This presents a lot of questions   Where are you seeing this?

Have we ever seen old Lana posts about Methamphetamines? There seems to have been no trace of it prior to the leak in 2012.
