This song describes a fateful encounter, it is a biographical piece about Lana's teenage days.

She sets the tone of the song, it's sundown, tomorrow is coming, and she is walking home from somewhere, most likely school, hence the "another day" repetition, suggesting that most of her days are the same old same old.

Lana loves to watch nature, the sunset. She sits down at a bench in a public setting, and dreams of having company, a mature older figure she can share the moment with. I 100% thought this was about sex work when first reading these, especially the waiting for the sun (more night time work). She’s propositioning married men for sex night after night. Or whoever she’s narrating as. Who knows tho

This is one of my all time favorite Lana songs, The melody is so good and the lyrics make me feel connected to her on a different level than some of her others.
