dietpussycola Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM Posted yesterday at 05:08 AM I really got Driving in Cars With Boys vibes.. but like grown up if that makes sense? “They think I’m dangerous. They think I’m really bad.” Edit: Also, the “Now I’m gone, baby, gone” vs “Tell him that his cowgirl is gone.” 5 Quote ⋆˙⟡ Dive in, dive deep and dive blue, my sweet ⟡˙⋆

Beautiful Loser Posted yesterday at 09:03 AM Posted yesterday at 09:03 AM It would’ve been so easy for her to rhyme “it’s not because of you” with “that I turned out so blue”, but I really appreciate she didn’t. 7 Quote

I was thinking about characters from poetry/film she could have been inspired by… then i thought of henry VIII… just why henry im so curious So it's been kinda confirmed that Henry is a codename for Evan Winiker, Lana's ex fiance during the Ocean Blvd era. He has a dog named Henry which is most likely where the name came from. Rob seems to allude to it on this post with the comment "Sounds like a country song". https://www.instagram.com/p/C3I3W91Ptpg/?igsh=a2pkZjd0azFra2Y5 2 Quote

Beautiful Loser Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM Posted yesterday at 02:05 PM Okay. So. maybe I’m just stating the obvious but She’s more or less begging Henry to return home but even if he does, she’s already over their relationship. There’s nothing he can do to repair it, she’s already made up her mind. Deep inside, she knows he won’t return (at all? soon?). But I think she wants him home, not only to feel loved, but also to see that he’s okay before she leaves him. It seems that Henry is attentive and loving, caring, when he’s home but there’s complete silence when he’s not. “All this off and on”, “you can’t chase a ghost when it’s gone”. I think @The Missing Shade of Blue did a great analysis of the Icarus reference and how God told Lana her purpose in life is to watch and observe this Henry Icarus. She’s not there to help him reach the sun, she’s there to nurse and care for him after he falls. Maybe the sun, Houston(?), is wherever (whoever?) he strays to, and he expects her to be there for him when he’s back home to comfort him. He doesn’t realize this is hurting her. She wants something more from him, from life. This comes as a shock to her. She hadn’t realized she’s not really the woman in his life until now that she’s heard it from God. She’s not sure is there is another romantic partner in his life, “if you did nothing wrong…”, but it doesn’t matter anymore. The only thing I can’t understand is why Lana’s dangerous, or why she considers herself to be. She’s been “wild” and “bad” before but never really dangerous? 2 Quote

The only thing I can’t understand is why Lana’s dangerous, or why she considers herself to be. She’s been “wild” and “bad” before but never really dangerous? Both of your analyses resonate for me in & can see that vision too- but the overall vibe of the song feels different for me (& her calling herself dangerous is part of what I am feeling/visualizing differently with the lyrics) the song feels so peaceful to me- the overall feeling evokes so much self-acceptance. Yes, Henry comes & goes, but it seems to me that she does too. Her epiphanies from God have helped her accept her true desires… & all of herself (even her ‘bad’/dangerous aspects) Parts of it remind me of the 1st sections of Venice Bitch somehow- the being on the road part & making it work is inverted in Henry. it’s so clearly not working with Henry…. & she’s tried & tried & tried. He expects her to always be there when he needs her, but she can’t expect the same in return. She acknowledges she’s no angel (dangerous) & underscores that with ‘get your ass in the house,’ but I actually think that when God also told her she’ll hold the hand of some Icarus, she realized that it isn’t about Henry. She’s not the one… for Henry. it feels like she realizes she’s the one who needs to leave. She can’t stay. She’s not the right one for him. this to me is also underscored in the last verse about Houston. She’s the country singer. She’s traveling on the road now. She’s self-deprecating herself about not being able to settle-down. Who is gonna be there for her no matter what bc he truly understands that just because she’s not with him all the time, doesn’t mean she won’t love him completely- doesn’t mean that she won’t hold his hand when he truly needs her bc he reached too high (just like she is oft to do bc she’s also dangerous & follows her dreams) It’s so angelic & peaceful bc accepting herself & needing to leave him for good lead her to her husband (“hey.”) 👼🏼 🐎 ☀️ 💕 2 Quote
