it's not really self-serving, if you look at the bigger picture:

 

the duopoly of the Republicans and Democrats is tearing the United States apart. If, by some miracle, the Greens won 5%+ of the vote and, again by some miracle, they were able to push Ranked Choice Voting through, we'd have a multiparty democracy rather than what we have now and that would be a net positive.

i agree with you that two party systems arent good in the slightest, but an election like this is not the time to begin your fight for a multi party system. any vote against kamala this time is for trump

Can we stop talking about the obvious fucking grift that is the “Green” party. The only green thing about them is all the money they personally make off of being spoiler candidates, backed by Republican PACs (yes GOP Donors are literally paying for Stein’s advertisements).

Now is not the time to be casting a vote that in any way helps Trump. If this were the era of 2012 Republicans, sure, fine, go ahead. But not now. This election is not the time to try and send a message to the Democratic Party that you're not happy with them by voting third party. There is WAY too much at risk.

Biden and the Democrats' handling of the Israel-Palestine conflict truly repulses me. But Trump becoming President is not only what Netanyahu wants, it's what Israel wants. Why would anyone want to help Netanyahu get what he wants? A vote for a third party is an indirect vote for Trump, period. Not voting is a vote for Trump, period. And a vote for Trump is a vote for even more theft of Palestinian land.

Every time I've become so defeated at the state of the world to the point I've felt like giving up and not voting at all, I remember that not voting for Harris would mean Israel gets a little closer to what they want, and that's certainly not what I want. The Democrats are wrong on Palestine, but indirectly helping Trump win means abandoning and causing harm to way too many people. You'd be abandoning our European allies, the Ukrainian people, LGBT people all over the country, women all over the country. You'd be abandoning rights you don't even know you've lost yet because we haven't even see how far the Supreme Court will go in the future with even more Trump appointees.

And if you live in a safe state, I don't care. We need that total popular vote, even though it doesn't matter electorally, to be the loudest rejection of Trump imaginable.

For context, Oct. 31st 2020, they predicted Trump would win Iowa by 7 points. Trump did, in fact, win by 8 points. They were the only poll to predict the outcome within 2 points.

If you think about it, the only times Iowa has gone blue in the last 20 years is when a Black Democrat has been one of the nominees.

For some reason, tiktok has this idea that they're going blue because of having a nazi running for governor I believe or something (i didnt do much research tbh) and they're thinking it could flip. idk im not gonna hold a torch to that flame but im curious what we think she might actually take that he thinks he has in the bag

I’m happy to hear that about Iowa! I was just there a few weeks ago and there was a lot less Trump signs compared to 2016 & 2020. I know it’s purely anecdotal but I was still shocked

I would say it’s a reason to hope Harris over performs her polling in the neighbouring states of WI and MI. Possibly PA, although some PA counties are “Northeastern” and not “Midwestern.” 
 

It’s also worth noting that Iowa has a large population of farmers, a demographic that has historically been screwed over by tariffs and probably don’t want to see more of it. 
 

North Carolina, in my opinion, would have a completely different electoral makeup than Iowa. There’s a very real chance, based on this poll, that Kamala over performs in the Rust Belt and still potentially underperforms in the Sun Belt (and she could still lose, especially if an otherwise “safe seeming” Sunbelt State like New Mexico suddenly flips).

im not American but my whole page is stuff about the election and I know it’s very close, but I hope that Kamala can win Pennsylvania and hopefully win the election. Because if trump wins…. It’s not going to be good.
