elaborating on this a bit more in this thread but here's how i view lana's single runs because it's hard to distinguish her proper singles from her promo singles BTD: video games > born to die > blue jeans > national anthem > summertime sadness > dark paradise (regional) Paradise: ride > burning desire UV: west coast > ultraviolence > black beauty (regional) HM: high by the beach > music to watch boys to LFL: love > lust for life > summer bummer NFR: doin time > fuck it i love you / the greatest COCC: chemtrails... > white dress BB: arcadia > blue banisters basically what i considered were a. if it had a video b. if it got radio promotion c. if it got a standalone single release d. if it was promoted as part of the album rollout shades of cool + brooklyn baby never got radio promotion iirc terrence loves you never got a video, freak never got a standalone release groupie love never got a video OR a standalone digital release, white mustang never got a standalone release mariners, venice bitch & hope is a dangerous thing were never part of the proper album rollout, the NFR trilogy never got standalone releases tulsa jesus freak was only promoted on radio text book & wildflower wildfire never were part of the album rollout, while BB was because of the video being used to promote the album (not to mention it being the only one of the 3 to get a video) this is a pretty useless post but i wanted to get this out of my brain

i feel like DYKTTATUOB is currently a promo, but will eventually become the second this is surprisingly very common in lana's discography where a song becomes a promo either concurrently or before the release of another single blue jeans (promo at the same time as video games) > 3rd single burning desire (itunes only track) > 2nd single ultraviolence (released in a set with 2 other promo singles shortly after WC's release) > 2nd single blue banisters (released in a set with 2 other promo singles a few months before the album's release) > 2nd single it'll probably happen with this one too

i'm like lowkey more shook that jessica is there vs sky being there when they collab for an album of songs about why their labels have mistreated them - except that only one of them has actually experienced that mistreatment

the part where charli goes "yeah-yeah-yeah" in the post-chorus was SO experimental like that is truly pots & pans realness right there! SO experimental

let's see: - we have basically all information on the album and we completely milked discussion of the one released song & 2 confirmed snippets - the one insider we could actually turn to almost got phished and rightfully has not returned - we have brainless people come on here all day and either spout hatred, actual nonsense, or ask questions that aren't even relevant to this thread - sane people who actually have lives are living their lives because there's nothing of substance happening here is there anything else? i might've missed something

kelela's album & lana's album are the 2 i'm actively looking forward to but let me list the ones that i'm anticipating at some point: - ethel cain's second album + PD b-sides EP - hopefully another japanese album by boa but i'll take a korean album/mini-album too - sza ctrl deluxe - doechii's debut album - rina's fourth third album - carly's loneliest time: side b (if it's actually getting released) - another perfume album - rosalia fourth album - charli's eleventh seventh album - madonna's album reissues (if they're actually getting released nnn) - depeche mode's album - enya's album when it comes out in 2048 nn - feist whenever she releases another album - hayley kiyoko's second third album - janet's black diamond (if it ever comes out nn also sorry bestie you know you who are but i still stan janet) - jessie ware's album - lily allen's album (if it even exists nn) - loona's the origin album (if bbc ever decides to give up and release it) - roísín murphy's "weird sounding" album - beyonce's 2nd & 3rd acts of the renaissance trilogy - shygirl nymph deluxe - sophie's posthumous album there's probably more but that's just looking through my spotify

the video is cute anti-hero & bejeweled are better but this is not a bad visual for the song tbh i understand why swifties think the song itself could allude to bisexuality but anyone trying to make the case for the video depicting bisexuality is just dense & transphobic
