She's my favorite, really, but her live shows are always just so-so technically wise. She can be amazing sometime and very average some other time. She has an uncanny voice, beautiful lyrics and melodies. She can do great! But she doesn't seem to put that much effort into live technique. She says she likes to "take care of the songs", to "write".. it saddens me a little because it means she doesn't want to perform in long term. I feel like her musical aim isn't to share her music with people but to make/produce things she likes and finds beautiful for people. The reverse of Beyonce whose songs aren't really deep but actually shares her music live w/ people. If that makes sense.

Lana's age also bugged me for a moment. I did some "research" early on and couldn't find her date of birth. If she was born in june 86 that would mean that her and her sister would be a little more than a year apart. And from the photo "Back in the days" we see on Chuck's tumblr, those cuties seem to have more than a single year gap. Now I'm so used to/over Lana mystery that it doesn't even matter. It makes me smirk, Lana thinks about everything, about every detail, she really isn't the kind of person who does something by accident. Everything she says and does have been weigh in, deeply thought out beforehand. She's became more of a control freak since VG. It's funny how her not wanting people to know about her past says so much about her personality.

She had to do a video in Las Vegas, Lana is very consistent in her taste: she loves Chateau Marmont, cars, is kinda obsessed with death, swimming pool etc... and she included all these items in her previous video. I expect neon light, chubby fake Elvis, strippers/gogo dancers, casinos, all packed in an old Vegas when mafioso were running the city.

I hope she'll do amazing, just to make the people who criticize her shut up. But I just know/feel she's gonna mess up a song or two. It's Lana after all, her flaws make her endearing to my eyes.
