How she described Honeymoon being jazzy, but like besides super subdued and light saxophone in Terrence Loves You & Art Deco that hardly counted as jazz.
No disrespect, because Honeymoon is a masterpiece, but the way she describes her album prior to their release always makes me laugh after you hear the actual album. Can't wait for Lana to start running her mouth about White Hot Forever/LP7.
LMAO remember when she used the word "trap" to describe Honeymoon?

Y'all remember in between HM and LFL when sis said she had another upbeat jazzy New York album in her? Baby I want it, I want it.
i don't mean to be that bitch but pretty sure lana doesn't actually know what jazz is

well, ill just say, friends that judged me for loving lana are listening to NFR nonstop. Like all of my friends. So I will take that over a volume issue in how to disappear (the worst track anyways)

i really do not think that any of us are convincing anyone to not listen to the album...i actually love them album but does that mean i can't be *slightly* critical of it? Once again - "critically acclaimed" is bullshit for the most part, so you can get the delusional thoughts out of your head now...
i didnt say not to listen, i said not to like. People are more than slightly critical--every time I come on this pre release thread that's not even supposed to be about NFR I see people talking shit about it. Sorry I would rather just enjoy it. Also calling me delusional for calling the album critically acclaimed makes zero sense
-
imagine feeling the need to constantly try to tear down a critically acclaimed album and try to convince other people not to like it. what is that doing for you? if you dont like it dont listen?

Let Me Love You Like A Woman, that reminds me of The Pretty Reckless - Hit Me Like A Man.
And okay, why'd they say the lyrics is "Kanye West is BLONDE and gone???" Please tell me that's not it.
that's definitely the lyric

Agree, she said that she spends months mastering her records, but there are obvious flaws and amateur-ish mistakes that came through sonically... why does it sound so bad then?
I don't know if ppl were talking about what eclipse said and that's how this whole thing got started, but I tend to agree with this tweet--It adds a certain quality that matches her aesthetic: https://twitter.com/ultrasubversive/status/1178363388717682689?s=20

So you mean to tell me that Lana (and her yes man Jack) intentionally made most of the instrumentals sound flat and dry, purposefully omitted bass on pretty much 99% of the album AND championed a very unequal, unpolished and uncooked approach for the production and mastering of the record? Hmmmmm sorry, but no.
Both Ultraviolence and Honeymoon are miles ahead in terms of recording quality and/or soundscape. They are timeless classics. Brooklyn Baby, Shades of Cool, West Coast, Sad Girl, Pretty When You Cry, Honeymoon, Music To Watch Boys To, Terrence Loves You, Salvatore and The Blackest Day (and even Heroine and Get Free) obliterate the production and mastering of every single songs on NFR.
I cannot actually believe that we are fighting over the production of this record when we have so much amazing music from Lana (as well as many of her contemporaries) to actually compare it too, like it's painfully obvious that the attention to detail to create a top notch atmospheric sound was totally lost on this record.
I don't need anyone's "bias" over at Pitchfork to convince me otherwise, I know Lana has had better production days.
she knows way too much about music and production for the nfr production to be an accident.

i feel like a lot of times song inspo isn't really that linearly related to one person or thing. I can see how california is definitely about barrie but the other songs could easily just be about love in general. Not really that into her dating a cop personally

can someone make lana throwing a dagger at the dummy's dick a gif i need to comment it on everything
