It really is a grower. I could not stand Happiness is a Butterfly the first few listens, but now it's really growing on me.
i found myself scream singing the "don't be a jerk don't call me a taxi" part the other day and i was like "oh.... I guess I like this song now"

this one is better than uv cause it has uv's aesthetic but with more depth. if it was this music with uv's visuals and hope was replaced with old money there would be no question

there would be zero point to canceling the album. The record company would needlessly lose a bunch of money. Go take a walk outside guys youre stressin

Is the lyric “playing games of reputation, meditating in the garden” or “playing games of levitation, meditating in the garden” ?
in Bartender ?? I hear levitation
levitation
last time i checked the bartender genius lyrics it was the messiest shit ive ever seen
-

okay so the bartender lyrics are totally describing the scene from the UO cover--do we think we're getting a bartender video then?
-
i get them putting the leaks team on it but honestly once its out its out they should just release the album like bon iver did
-
The Greatest, Cinnamon, California is the holy trinity with bartender as honorable mention
but honestly they're basically all flawless. The only one I don't really care about is HTD and I haven't even heard it

I know it's naive but I just kind of thought she had stopped for good because I have a family full of addicts that have remained sober once they got control of their addictions. Obviously that doesn't happen often. But that's why that was why I kind of my knee jerk reaction

Girl she’s been a drunk for a while
haha i know but i thought she stopped. remember that story of when she woke up and she couldn't find her car and she was like "okay im gonna stop drinking." Did i dream this?

WAIT GUYS
What if the weird effect when she says “turn the radio on, dancing to a pop song” & the fuh it’ll i luh you is meant to sound like that bc she’s trying to sound drunk & or high?? I think it would make sense considering how well spoken she usually is.
I am eating and had a bit too much wine. Born at the teet
oh i def think she's supposed to sound drunk or high. As the song goes on you can tell less and less what she's saying..
It's really interesting to me because I thought she was a recovered alcoholic? The lyrics make it seem like not anymore

As probably one of the oldest peeps on LanaBoards. I totally got her Beach Boys and Kokomo reference
upset at the implication that people don't know kokomo
-
well obviously they can't drop a blatant t*ylor sw*ft knockoff at the same time as the aforecensored embarrassment's album
uh
-
I kinda thought the "loss" was the complete denigration of the America she used to believe in so much... but that could be me extrapolating
-
TG is in its own league hard to compare to other things.
remember when ppl were saying that god knows i tried was like bel air on here? no comparisons actually really make that much sense

I think the issue with the new lyrics is that half the time she's halfheartedly adapting the old lyrics and the other half she's trying to write a new fun song. "we gave all we had by the time we got to bed cause we knew we could" doesn't really make sense?
