  1. what was the point of this comment?
  2. Yall is lana really deleting comments? Apparently she deleted Doja’s comment and someone on twitter said she deleted their comment :/
  3. Does anyone in defence of lana in this thread know what microaggressions are?
  4. This is actually the perfect response to this mess.
  5. girl give it up. The tit thing was a joke, and even if it wasn't so what? i wouldn't take doja's comment so seriously, she's always playing around. her contract began before kesha's injunction & she was also very young when she signed the contract too....
  6. No, i'm stating a fact that the amount of criticism lana faced doesn't amount to what beyonce faced. Comparisons wouldn't have been made had Lana not mentioned them in the first place. EVERYONE would've supported lana's statement if she just made a post without mentioning them. as i've already said this was a huge accomplishment for BW for dominating the charts for the first time in over a decade, and then here comes Lana complaining about how the same never happened for her (yet the women weren't even singing about abusive relationships but singing about being sexy and having a crush???). If you can't accept that it was very tone-deaf then that's on you.
  7. yes...? the whole point is that there was no need to mention those women at all, it felt shady and bitter. especially when the women she mentioned like Beyonce and Nicki have been dragged through hell for their lyrical content e.g. Beyonce threatening to be lynched because of her lyrics on Lemonade! yes, lana has been dragged relentlessly, but not to the extent of being threatened to be lynched, so why compare the two? it's weird because lana mentioned them singing about "fucking" and "cheating" and then immediately went on to talk about how her lyrics are about "being in love" and "feeling beautiful" when lana's sung about fucking and cheating too. also, say so is a song about a crush and savage is about being self-confident so really none of those songs were about fucking or cheating... it just seems like a microaggression towards the women and it was totally unnecessary. it's clear that it wasn't lana's intention to be ignorant, but unfortunately she was.
  8. emphasis on the E lol... I don't think it's right to come for Lorde now anyway because she was young and probably just trying to be quirky like all teens in 2014. Pretty sure she likes lana now and even added get free to one of her spotify playlists. Lorde's clearly grown from those comments considering her lyrical content in melodrama is quite similar to what she criticised lana for, so i think it's lana's turn to move on from those comments now
  9. Something about how the lyrics in without you are unhealthy for young girls to be listening to? It's in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lanadelrey/comments/1n2vv2/royals_singer_lorde_lana_del_reys_music_is/
  10. wdym where? that's like saying a man can't be sexist if he has a tattoo of a woman... Again don't think lana's racist but it's a dumb analogy

  12. Doja cat was in the contract before the injunction and was very young when she signed the contract. Kehlani and Cardi have ABSOLUTELY faced the same backlash so please put a sock in it, you’re making yourself look worse. And as much as I don’t like Cardi’s music, or Camila, I have no idea why you’re trying to group Kehlani and Doja in with being “inauthentic” or “boring”... just say you only listen to alt pop and wanna suck Lana’s toes and go.
  13. i don’t think lana’s a raging racist or intended to “shade” black women like doja, nicki, megan & beyonce... but i think the issue w/ people is how she even mentioned them in the first place. there was simply no need because she didn’t even congratulate them or say she was happy, she just went to go on and complain about her own problems after black women have just dominated the charts for the first time since the 90s? i agree that lana was relentlessly criticised early in her career and it was obviously due to misogyny, but she could’ve made a post without namedropping anyone else because it just made her seem bitter. also lana did not “pave the way”, black women have been singing about these topics for DECADES. and lana did glamorise abusive relationships like lolita and that’s just facts so idk why that was even brought up. yall can defend lana as ik some people will regardless but there’s an obvious issue here lol edit: also yes i find it strange how every time lana drags someone into her controversies it’s always black artists... but anyways

she does have a twitter accounts under pseudonyms so twitter doesn’t suspend her. it’s easy to know it’s her because she usually posts screenshots to her instagram story and posts things that only she could possibly post. but again her account is private, if it wasn’t her i’m sure she would’ve cleared it up :/
