I think she has stated on many occasions that she has a love for poetry and literate. Let's not forget the "Lolita" references in the BTD album.

And It's not like people stay on topic about that specific news story. They just talk about the album in general. Why get so into one thread and talk for days about the album, when all those posts will mean nothing cause everyone else will be posting in a new thread? Get my drift?

The Academy likes variety for that category. Plus, based on the past 3 ceremonies (and how the category has been fucked up), they like to base the win on who's performing (which nowadays they only like to limit to 1 or 2 performers )

Gatsby was going to come out December 2012. Y&B would have been on both Paradise and the soundtrack, promoting both projects. But since the film was pushed back, so was the release of Y&B. That's why it wasn't on Paradise. And if you are going to say it isn't an original song, then you might as well question every other song that's ever been nominated. Lyrics, melody's, choruses, top lines, etc.., all of them have been re-used and recycled from unused songs to make a new song. And a lot of artists just throw in a song they are currently working on or an unreleased song when asked to write a song for a film.

I agree. I find the nominations to be a nice treat for Lana, she deserves those nods. It's nice that's she's being acknowledge in the US. And I hope she can see that. I just want her to perform. Anyways, so far we have Satellite Award nom and Grammy award nom for Y&B. We are less than a week away from the Golden Globe noms announcements. There's already predictions for her to get a nod at the Oscars, but she gets the nom for the GG, it'll secure her a nominations for the Oscars.
