  1. I don't think I've seen a thread such as this one,  so I decided to make a little game, hopefully it catches on and we can have fun.

This idea came about because I am doing a personal project regarding the connections to a few of my fave tarot cards and how they relate to my current journey here on earth. As I am doing research on meditating, I start thinking of the Born To Die: Paradise album and about how a lot of her songs remind me of the High Priestess card.

When I think of The High Priestess card I think of the song Born To Die, I really don't have an explanation but that's my first thought.

Also love how she sings the verses

    “I'm over here, baby
    Sitting across the room
She's over there racing to try and get to you
I'm over here crying out of laughter
    She's sitting there real cute
Put that bitch on prescriptions if she think she fuckin' you“

    “She a dead fish anyway
You could do it straight, you could do it sideways
But if we do it my way you'll be crying for your mommy
I know how to ride forever, turn me upside down
Put your hands around my throat, I'm 'bout to win the crown”

it’s so funny yet catchy how she sings about riding some other chicks boyfriend! I live for slutty Melanie, she really has a thing for unavailable guys (Marina was already foreshadowing it with Homewrecker) :illumilana2:

    LMAOAOAOAOAOA those lyrics lmao

  3. I fell in love with Lana again. I’m going back listening to all her albums. I finished Born To Die and Paradise and I’m gonna go on to Ultraviolence , probably today. What made me me fall in love with her essence and work was when I was listening to a playlist and Love came on. It reminded me of my current state in life and it made me feel as if I am right where I should be. This should have been a blog post LMAO:creep:

I totally get this. I was 14/15 when BTD and Paradise were released and it was “cooler” to pick the lesser known songs but you’re right Summertime Sadness is a jewel from those early days and I can see why a lot of people enjoy this so I appreciate the value it can add

Summertime Sadness changed something in me and I remember when it first premiered. I used to act like it was my least favorite but that song is a part of me

Lucky Ones is a better closing song than This Is What Makes Us Girls. :whatever:

TIWMUG doesn't even make sense lyrically. The chorus doesn't match the verses. I just came around to liking it recently while i sat and listned through btd.

Red Lips was the first thing I checked out too! I was actually obsessed with the spider and I printed out a photo of it on her face and stuck it on my bedroom wall :omfg2: i think this was early 2013.

my fear of spiders could not let me watch any further but it was great song and she looked pretty

  7. I fell in instantly 2012. No other artist inspired more than she did and she spoke to me bc she had a similar range, glam yet trendy and super feminine- which was everything I strived to be at the time. Now I go back to her old music and I find inspiration but I do not like the new albums as much. BTD PARADISE is amazing, UV is great and Honeymoon is surprisingly good but after those albums are eh. I will say her last good album to me is NFR.  But now I'm so disappointed in her work and the stunts she' s done lately.
