  1. The album overall is beautiful and I can see her vision with it. The weakest songs for me are Paris, Texas, Grandfather, and Peppers. I enjoy the album. I want to stress that I am not saying I want her to revisit old material because I know that’s how people will interpret this. However, there was a different quality to her work pre-NFR and maybe even before LFL (minus a few tracks, mainly unreleased ones from that time). There was something there that isn’t so present in the music anymore and it’s totally okay for some people to long for that again. Listening to this album and then listening to songs like Old Money, Dragon Slayer, etc, there is something different there. I don’t expect her to go back to that style because she’s growing as a person and I appreciate it. But I am allowed to miss that story-telling and atmosphere that old songs had. Once again, I love this new music too, but the older music had that atmosphere and maybe it’s the current producers she’s working with contributing to that (minus Jon Batiste).
  2. I agree with you. I do like the music and it has grown on me since I first listened but it hasn’t grabbed me the way I was hoping it would like Born to Die, Paradise, UV, and Honeymoon did when I first listened.
  3. The way she sings Lately, I've been thinkin' about how things used to be Swingin' in a nightgown underneath the old oak tree Almost Victorian with you, you can talk to me But, lately, I can see… in Fishtail is a very similar melody to Hello, pretty baby, I can be your cherry pie, You walk into the room, my heart goes boom Send me to the sky in Live or Die
  4. I think Sweet plays well into discovering her deepest fears because it describes what she wants in a relationship and how she sees herself. And then we move onto to A&W where a guy was treating her as a side piece, completely opposite of what she describes in Sweet. The Judah Smith interlude completes this idea.
  5. I see they mentioned she talks about a suicide attempt in Fingertips. Is this true? I didn’t realize that. Is it the verse where she talks about the neighbors pulling her up by her waist?
  6. What’s the consensus on this vinyl? Is the cover the actual cover? https://www.merchbar.com/pop/lana-del-rey/lana-del-rey-did-you-know-that-there-s-tunnel-under-ocean-blvd-vinyl-record-5904559?ucc=US&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlPWgBhDHARIsAH2xdNfpreltNv2_clgM_sc7s_ai8QYboB3jfsBGHAAiPJN2fgmKSAL-_mwaArtdEALw_wcB
  7. I felt that way at first too, a little disappointed don’t worry it grows on you! It’s a lot to hear at once.
  8. I want the Fuck You and Slut ones My favorite line so far is “It’s a beautiful life. Remember that too for me.”
  9. I personally like the theory that the surprise was fake and done to find out who the leak is so her team could wrap that shit up I don’t even care if it’s fake it’s interesting
  10. I’ve ended up liking songs that I didn’t pay attention to when we got the track list: Fishtail, Candy Necklace, Margaret, and the interludes. It’s a very beautiful album. I’m starting to come around to it. It was a lot to listen to at once. Putting it on shuffle and revisiting songs one at a time has helped me get into it more.
