The Grants is making me sob. The idea of passing on and taking my memories of everyone I love with me is so overwhelming in a beautiful and sad way. I’ve received bad news over the last few months: a friend has brain cancer, my dog is in heart and kidney failure, I’m losing a close friend at work because of layoffs. In addition to hearing the song from my perspective, I am thinking about it from theirs especially when she says “Do you think about heaven? Do you think about me?” I don’t want them to forget me, and then Did you know… comes on and I’m more of a mess. This song is really hitting me, and I think it’s her best opening track.

It took me a second to realize when she says “mine of you with me” she means the memory of the person.

I’m taking a day off work to fully immerse myself in listening! The year NFR was released I bought Bose headphones just for the occasion so I will be using those to listen. The sound is top notch. I originally was going to drive and listen for the first listen but when I listened to A&W for the first time in my car I couldn’t understand a word so I don’t want to go through that again.
