  1. Cherry and Heroin are skinny and talented.

heroin has the best production in her entire discography.

late but Bel Air is like top5 production-wise and it's simple as hell but it's just beautiful.

Old Money and Young & Beautiful are also there

    Oh bel air..she did that

I think Heroin would've been better without the screaming Lizzy bridge, it should've maintained the calmness and emptiness of the first half of the song. The Lizzy vocals only worked well on Get Free.

Tea of the day. :smokes: :bye2:

  2. On her instagram story the other day, Lorde said that this tour was going to act as a "farewell" to the album, so it seems like she's eager to devote more time in the studio again, which is exciting because that means L3 will probably have less distance between Melodrama than Melodrama and PH had, time wise! It would be really cool if in the next year or so, she released a b-sides record. It could be like a dual album.

The Pure Heroin Sessions ("Side A") with Good Fights, Lost Boys, another outtake and then 2-3 demos (maybe even a studio version of this new Ribs tour remix she played at Milwaukee) and then...

The Melodrama Sessions ("Side B") with Precious Metals and maybe 2 other tracks and a few demos or remixes

    Just a thought

  3. Also, "Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby

Need you baby, more, more, more, more

Need you baby, like I breathe you, baby

Fucking need you baby, more, more, more more"

She's being sarcastic/sardonic in response to this quote:

"I listened to that Lana Del Rey record and the whole time I was just thinking it’s so unhealthy for young girls to be listening to, you know: 'I’m nothing without you.' This sort of shirt-tugging, desperate, don’t leave me stuff. That’s not a good thing for young girls, even young people, to hear"

This kind of disproves my earlier post above.... maybe it is about Lorde giphy.gif

wait lorde is only 20? I thought she was like 28 wtf

I think she recently turned 21!

  4. Nope, just assumptions made by people in the earlier pages. I don't think Lana would ever confirm if the song is about someone or not.

I couldn't imagine this song is actually about Lorde. It was 2014. Could you imagine Lana calling a 16-17 year old a whore  :toofunny:  hahahaha

Plus "mimicking me is a fucking bore" Lorde sounds nothing like Lana. Their styles are completely different

I really do wonder who this song is about though! Maybe it's just about multiple people, not one specifically

  5. Here to say that Lemon Glow is THAT song. Already in my top 5 favorites from them. They managed to sound like their signature sound but so, so different at the same time. It sounds more experimental and I love it. I hope they try more experimental sounds with the new record

  6. i rly hope there's a Heroin video... with visuals like this

black and white for the verses and chorus with occasional flashes to old horror movie footage and dark imagery

color  and flashy for the ITS HOT parts of the choruses

    tumblr_ol52koZOPU1thoo8to1_500.giftumblr_nj0brjGtsT1u08zuoo1_500.gif

and i hope there's imagery of topanga looking eerie

    7f02cad0e627a938f78bd4638e8f7e68--candle

Yes!! I imagine the beginning starting in a grainy/film like black & white, with the shot starting at the ocean and stormy clouds then moving to a house on the ocean with the balcony doors open and the drapes blowing in the wind and it eventually moves to Lana laying in bed staring out at sea ("the rumbling from distance shores..."). I need a Heroin video  :toofunny:

  7. I think people got this idea from the witchcraft references on her twitter like the Trump spells but yeah that hardly means "this is the direction my album will go"

I do think the original LFL was more "b-movie" like the trailer, she said she was experimenting with horror movie sounds once and we really never got that on the album besides the Carnival of Souls sample

Yeah exactly! This era was hardly going to be "witchy," though I do think she had some (very very very) minor references to it beforehand.

Kind of on the same topic, but kind of digressing... does anyone else hear those subtle production sound in Cherry that sound kind of eerie? I noticed on my first listen back in July and now it's all I hear and I love it  :flutter: it reminds me of the little eerie production notes in 13 Beaches and Heroin. All three of those tracks have a darker sound to them, I love it

  8. I don't wanna be that girl but I'm gonna but that girl: scrapping Yosemite, RBFY, BAR, reusing the BAR mv for shitty white mustang, scrapping the galactic witch concept for Chuck's trash Love BTS shoot as an album cover

I was talking about it in the context of eras as a whole. No album has really been substantially bad. I'm not talking about smaller pitfalls like leaving out Yosemite, Best American Bible, etc. Those were obvious let downs but it didn't make this era that bad, you know?

On the "galactic witch" thing.... we....have.....no....confirmation...this...was..ever...a...thing..................... How many times do I have to say this :toofunny:  If you're referring to the album trailer, Lana said herself that it was just a solo thing inspired by "b-movies." There is barely anything "witchy" about this era besides subtle references in photos and the album trailer.

  9. Are they good? I'll have to see them at Lolla before Lana and I've seen the scores of their albums and they are horrible tbh  :toofunny:

They are very comparable to Lana's sound (or at least her UV sound). A few of my favs that are easy to listen to are Sadderdaze, You Get Me So High, Daddy Issues and Void. Emile Haynie produced their first record. Some of the sound samples are the same ones he used for Lana's BTD record (listen to Female Robbery, Afraid and Sweater Weather and you'll hear it)!

  10. I thought it was "I hear you!". :rip:

Noo I'm pretty sure it's "hate." Kind of makes sense, too, I think because it's like "I find myself on the 55 to your house/the city light beating down on my face/rays burning holes in my eyes, I hate you" like she's on the way to his house in the middle of night and she hates it but she loves it at the same time? That's just how I interpret it!

And when she performs it she says that line with a bit of a smile sometimes so I think it's a playful "I hate to love you" thing
