  1. I'm pleasantly surprised by his review and agreed with most of it. His fans are so gross and annoying in the comments though
  2. Some of these songs on LFL would sound good as hell in a club (Groupie Love, World at War). Also, I love how God Bless America fades darkly into World at War.
  3. I can't fault her for trying new things :/ I'm not saying that y'all are faulting her, because I get what y'all mean and I sorta agree. Maybe she's trying to escape that particular aesthetic (sadness, old men, ect) for the time being and test the waters. I don't think anything that made her special is gone. It's all there. She just chooses how to present it to the world.
  4. I don't think all of Lana's magic is gone. There are some great lyrics on the new record?
  5. I can't wait until the vinyl ships... two months from now
  6. Dan on this song would be so heavenly... but I still love the song. I want her to do more songs with that vibe Dressed like witches on stage and harmonizing... omg
  7. I agree. He always has a large level of skepticism with her work. Like did she snub him at a party or something
  8. https://twitter.com/theneedledrop/status/889024084914434049 Okay but why is he always saying rude things about her? I get not liking her music, but he loves tearing her apart over little things. I just don't get why. I already know he is probably going to give Lust For Life a low rating, even though she is going in another direction lyrically in most of the songs, and that's the main thing he has criticized her about in the past. She can't really win. It seems like he enjoyed Honeymoon for the most part in his review, but then he gives it a low ass 5/6? So Honeymoon is equal to Witness by Katy Perry? Alright... lol
  9. Born To Die: It is so infused with Lana's talent for imagery. Her lyrics are so unique to her. This album is a great beginning for Lana Del Rey because it is honest about it's feelings. Even if someone is bad for you, they can still be so intoxicating and add a strange light to your life. Born To Die is Lana showing her soul to the world. This album is satisfying because it affirms that it feels good to take a walk on the wild side, even if it is no good for you. Paradise: This also really goes into what fascinates Lana. The idea of heaven and the darkness of being human. Good and evil. The concept is an extension of Born To Die and how it romantisizes living dangerously. Ultraviolence: This album feels like Lana is going through a dark period, which results in raw, almost messy (compared to her previous work) tracks. Instead of repressing this feeling, she pours out her sadness into the lyrics, which get very dark (Ultraviolence) and longing (Old Money). This concept seems to reach a lot of people and gained her many fans. Honeymoon: This album has a sultry title that is perfect for its content. It ranges from romantic and cinematic to melancholy and trippy. It perfectly captures the essence of being in love and the feelings of betrayal that can result. Many fans dismiss this album, but it really is a gem that gives her discography even more elegance. Lust For Life: This album is so unique from her other records. It is almost quirky in a way. Taking a different direction was a bold move on Lana's part. It helps deteriorate the myth about Lana Del Rey being shallow and superficial. Lana does not have all the answers about where we are headed, but that is the whole point. This album is a reflection of the times we are in. It is a time of uncertainty. The album is somewhat eclectic, with its variety of sounds and collaboration. This goes along with the theme of the past (Stevie Nicks, Lennon, 60s girl group moments) relating to the present (Weeknd, Rocky, trap beats). Ultimately, this album is about going into the future and having hope that things will be okay. Out of the black and into the blue.
  10. She is glowing and her makeup looks so fierce! I love how the dude's picture looks like prom poses.
  11. I have a feeling that GBA is going to be the next video. I'm kinda hoping for it to be one towards the end of the album but that probably won't happen.
  12. Totally agree. I mostly want her to ditch the trap beats tbh.
  13. I know it's kind of soon to bring this up, but how do yall think her next album will sound? I'm hoping for more Heroin-esque songs, because that really was a masterpiece.
  14. Listening to Heroin during sex sounds so dark but I would live for it tbh I'm just curious, what did you dislike about Love?
  15. 13 Beaches - 21 Cherry - 14 In My Feelings - 38 God Bless America - And All the Beautiful Women In It - 52 Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (ft. Stevie Nicks) - 34 Tomorrow Never Came (ft. SEAN ONO LENNON) - 26 Heroin - 23 Get Free- 32
  16. Dylan Will Not Participate is taking forever to post his review
  17. After listening to the album a few times... here's some quick thoughts Pink: I loved the songs. Blue: I liked the songs. Green: Meh. Red: I disliked the songs. 1. Get Free (very iconic and her best album closer EVER) 2. Heroin (some of her best work. it has such a fitting sound for the subject matter.) 3. Tomorrow Never Came (so perfectly 70s) 4. Cherry (just so catchy) 5. Groupie Love (it makes me feel high) 6. Love (great album opener. i love the overall sound.) 7. White Mustang (there's something melancholy and cool about it. love the whistling.) 8. 13 Beaches (i didn't like it at first but it grew on me.) 9. WTWWAWWKD (those high notes though.) 10. Change (i'm so glad that she added this, it really helps the record come full circle conceptually.) 11. BPBP (i don't think lana and stevie sound great together, but my opinion may change.) 12. Lust For Life (the weeknd's voice is meh for me.) 13. Summer Bummer (i didn't like this as a single but it adds a cool feel to the album.) 14. God Bless America (i just thought this song would be stronger. not a fan of the beat.) 15. In My Feelings (i love the lyrics but i don't enjoy how it sounds in general. kind of annoying. don't kill me) 16. Coachella (her weakest song tbh)
  18. I feel like this album has some of her best work (Heroin) and also some of her worst (Coachella), so I get what you mean. For me, the amazing songs are so amazing that it makes up for the weak points.
  19. She needs to make more songs like Heroin. I love the mood of it and how it just goes crazy in the second half.
  20. Summer Bummer sounds so good in the context of the album?!?! Like I didn't even like it as a single but it works on the album.
  21. Ultraviolence = Lust For Life > Paradise > Honeymoon > Born to Die
  22. Love - 8 Lust For Life (ft. The Weeknd) - 8 13 Beaches - 15 Cherry - 18 White Mustang - 20 Groupie Love (ft.
