Wait for life is easily the most beautiful song Lana has EVER fucking done in her discography. Emile very well gets it. I wonder if his sound has evolved producing wise. Jack was good for the one record. I prefer that she collab with producer Greg Gonzales from Cigarettes after sex. Although their albums have sounded all the same I feel like she NEEDS to hop on one track with them. If not Greg then the band dilly dally or mitski. If lana had THESE guitars i will literally ascend into heaven

Now that I think about it, “White Hot Forever” may be a reference to her mans white hair. Already this seems like the healthiest relationship she’s been in. I wouldn’t be surprised if this album is dedicated to her feelings that she has with him and this is her stamp as “forever” with him. She probably wrote some song or poem describing him and she referenced him as being “white hot” because of his appearance.

62nd Annual Grammy Awards - General Discussion Thread
Lustrouslines replied to Elle's topic in Music
This is fucking insane. I knew in my heart Lana wouldn’t win that big of an award just because it wasn’t even known by the GP, billie definitely doesn’t deserve the damn AOTY. That’s for fucking sure. -
Aesthetically I feel like UV has been Lana’s best work. She truly captured an atmosphere with UV with the drugs, rock & roll, the dark aura. Production wise Honeymoon just fucking hits. I hate my freshman year of high school self for not appreciating it more when it came out, but these STRINGS are so captivating and haunting. It literally puts you in a trance. Personally though, NFR stands out as my fav because of my current stage of life and how it came at the right time.

Exactly this. The basic and boring white girls in sororities at my university make it known they listen to Billie to claim that they’re actually “unique” and “have a different music taste” than most girls. Lana’s fan base to me always seems so strong. Most times when i meet a lana fan it’s because lana has been an influence in their life somehow. Lana has been in this game for a minute and has created a whole culture of indie teens that feel misunderstood. But the difference is that even now there’s a clear distinction between “fans” of hers and people who just know about her. Lizzo will win AOTY -

Exactly! Who in their right mind believes that NFR was a flop or in any way bad at all? It’s a fucking masterpiece that got the recognition of album of the fucking year. -
It’s amazing how we’re in a new cycle for album names’ Old- Born to Die Paradise Ultraviolence Honeymoon Lust For Life New- Norman Fucking Rockwell! White Hot Forever She’s getting creative and clever with these names! I admire them so much. She truly is trying something fresh and new with Jacks production, lyricism, and album titles

When she talks of an “astrology theme” i think she means that’s she’s diving deeper into her own birth chart. She may discover what it means to have a Leo Moon and Cancer Sun which i think is amazing! i’m a big astrology whore and astrology has allowed me to open my mind about the influences that the constellations have on my personality and the way i think. i don’t necessarily see her talking about all 12 signs, just the ones in her chart and in what ways they influence her overall attitude in life. Imagine though a song about her being a Cancer!!! I would totally relate

There’s this sort of production value to Lana and Jacks tracks that adds an organic feel to it. Throughout the album I felt like HTD, California, CG, HIAB, and HIADT had some unbalanced production from the arrangement of beats to the way her vocals were put together. But i like it. It adds an additional intimate feeling knowing that only Jack, Lana, and Laura had a majority hand of creating the album. Dan does have amazing skills, i agree better than Rick, but Jacks synths create a whole new atmosphere. Afraid, Hanging Around, Angels Forever, Flipside.

In Love Song there’s this craving of intimacy when you hear it. There’s a peaceful but heartbreaking separation of two people who shared great memories together. It makes you want to reunite with an old flame to just share what you’ve always known best about each other. -

My bad, Lana song “sorter”. They give you the choice out of two songs and you have to decide which song you like most. This one had practically her whole discography. At the end it ranks them from the choices and decides your favorites and puts them in a numerical list. -

I have decided that NFR will be soon tatted on my collarbone due to how much meaning is tied into the album and the phase of life I’ve been through since it’s been released. Also, I did a Lana song sorted and HIAB came at #1, and i have no disagreements. -

Just wanna say that California is so FUCKING POWERFUL. The vulnerability as she expresses that her old lover still has a hold on her and how she admits that she will accept him back in a heartbeat is so raw. I just want to cry and break down every time i hear it -

This album is giving me so much comfort while i’m in such a lonely place in my life. It’s crazy how the universe sends you the right thing at the right time. It’s beautiful. Happiness is a Butterfly has been the greatest gift. -
This album will be produced by Jack. She’s been writing EVERYTHING with him and he’s been pulled by her to produce a lot of songs recently. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has 50% of the album finished. Demos for sure have been recorded. This album is gonna be in the same vein as fuck it i love you, hey baby blue, and that other one since those had been written last.
