i speak from the perspective of having the fortune of living in a country where i do not pay for my healthcare, and if i do, it is heavily subsidised by the government, but i have always seen the american health care system as the most predatory and incomprehensible monster and it does fill me with some sort of resentment toward the CEO's and shareholders of these mega-rich insurance companies. seeing mothers struggle to pay for their childrens medications, and people unable to pay for life saving surgeries is the most gut wrenching thing and i can see how something like this was going to happen at some point if i’m honest. also everytime i visit the US i am SHOCKED at how you can buy packs of 500 paracetamol (acetaminophen) and ibruprofen when over here you cannot legally buy more than 2 packs at once (at a maximum of 16 pills per pack IN blister packaging)... but no wonder if you have to rely on pills to keep pain at bay
