yeah i should've phrased it better, it feels like the emotional followup. track 10 (pop 2) -> february 2017 (charli) -> visions (hifn). very raw and sonically unstable releases of emotion, they sound from an event like the big bang, or season five of lost. also essentially all closing tracks

visions is the brainchild of track 10 x february 2017 and i've never been more pleased. never related harder to a charli song. never been able to pick a favorite charli song because she has been releasing consistently incredible music her entire career but i can now. what have you done ... visions is the ultimate charli xcx song. i am so proud to wear this crown. omg.

i am kind a shewk that it seems a possibility she releases every song. i stopped attending her zooms once she started playing snippets. i spent 2009-18 invested in snippets/unreleased material of many pop girls and have learned via charli's grand finale (17-18) tooooo avoid listening snippets of material that could be released and/or leaked soon and just pretend they don't exist lmao for example, i am a gaga stan along w lana and charli and i am not listening to any of the album leaks, even if they're just demos. i hate the feeling when you have a song in final hq but one or more sections you are familiar with--it takes from the experience. (i do not do this with someone like sky ferreira, though. by the time that album comes those memories will be long gone. [no one is like sky ferreira besides sky ferreira, to be clear.].) the same applies to entire song leaks vs the album overall. hate the feeling when a 'new' song doesn't feel new, esp if it slays but you've overplayed it. that's why i don't like excessive promo singles. in 2010-11 though i was deep in the realm of gaga's unreleased and bought and leaked a few. i also bought bounce and good girls and split the price w someone online so ya that'd be awesome and feel like payoff but the fact we're even getting most of them is awesome. i finally understand is phenomenal, focus refocused™ i see the album getting universal acclaim!!!!! again not everybody has that

yes grins gets sufficient praise, but sometimes.... ugh, thank you queen <3 i just got back inside from getting high on the balcony (and smoking a parliament tbh ugh fuck west coast her impact, ironically this is helping me quit juul lmfao). i put grins on first (airpods pro and tidal hifi, it really makes a difference!) and hit this a+ new 'outer space' pen i got earlier. the past couple days my dialectic pisces internal monologue has been transcribing my thots/feels for my special someone in a cute msg that'll be attached to sum. this literally happens at least once a month--i just kinda contemplate and, though the words are still beautiful, i have a breakthrough and condense all of those thoughts in my passage back to one simple line. there's power in simplicity. in this case, i had my breakthrough about two-thirds into grins. it took the change of one word from my original sentence. i was smiling at how simple it was, and looking between downtown and the treetops. listened you're the one next and, of course, still smiling, cute shit. i listen to the original single sometimes (eg earlier) because i love the cover, and have since the song came out in 2012. i have distinct memories of playing it from my iphone early spotify era, nonstop, amazed at the sledgehammer-synths, probably getting in the shower before school. (she's always been experimental and doesn't get enough credit for that either btw.) and lock you up. my most notable thought was, she sounded truly in love.

like, i said before i think forever is phenomenal. i loved listening to the stems but didn't listen to any edits. i would not change a thing. buT, claws hasn't been nearly as exciting for me. this time, i'll check out the edits. her acknowledgment that these songs are rough and for the moment, and is giving fans at home a creative, interactive project to be a part of. the world really does not understand how much of a legend she is yet but i will make sure they do no matter what happens to us
