I know you were joking which is why the entire mixtape/album distinction is dumb to me lmao if HIFN had 10 tracks people would think it’s a mixtape bc the last two were labeled that but since she went with 11 tracks that somehow makes it an album even though all three were high concept and universally acclaimed and toured. Charli hates labels. in a way she has already left them all .........

Of course. I think ‘mixtape’ is derogatory if anything, they’re better than most albums. But undeniably, N1A and Pop 2 were exploratory in both sound and experiences whereas HIFN was a post-Charli release in a post-concert world, so I think she wanted to make clear that she ain’t a mixtape girl no more.

I think visions was track 11 for a reason. It’s always been linked to Track 10 and February 2017 for me, but it wasn’t until a couple months ago that I rationalized the number of songs. She’s just constantly growing as a person and I think HIFN helped her find closure. If her upcoming music is new territory, it makes sense she’d try to shed the ‘mixtape’ label and cap off the decade with something indefinable. visions as track 11 is *peak* chef’s kiss imo. It’s about possibility and acceptance and love and faith and though the melodies sound melancholy, you can hear she truly has... visions and is ready

I would not be surprised if she has been plotting her takeover. She is a master of orchestration in every sense and I think she’s shown Atlantic enough for a high budget campaign strategy. 2021 can only go one of two ways and if the evil is defeated, Charli would be the one for channeling ROL-grade utopia pop. Chromatica is the other side of the coin for me. I think some artists eg Sky are intentionally holding off and I don’t blame them. I couldn’t release a passion project this year, just like I couldn’t have a wedding. I wouldn’t want a special moment tainted like that. Artists deserve credit for merely having the energy right now. But I’m sure it’ll be a great year for music.

The recent leaks are incredible and I could not be more grateful. 2020 sucks and I’ve been yearning for My Forever and Dubai. Honestly, my favorite two songs of hers. Never thought WGFU would leak and it lived up. Reasons Why.flac sounds fucking phenomenal with my headphone amp. Mutual Friends - HAIM??? No words. She’s the second last concert I went to, the absolute fever dream of her opening for Jaden Smith at our fall blowout. It was my literal DREAM for her to perform here, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the announcement. Her and Carly. And Carly came the year before. The entire front row was full except for... front and center and I walked right up to it lol omg people are weird. Dubai was euphoric, time slows down... ...then met Charli again six nights later, Henry Radcliffe used my Sidekick LX, and I witnessed Allie X absolutely fucking gawn out her whole mind at the afterparty with those upcoming bops of hers. Anyway, Dubai always takes me back and that was a pretty cool punch to cap off a generally incredible year of concerts. Banks kissing my cheek the last second was a highlight. Women teamed the fuck up and the barrage of quality albums (including the one SOPHIE did not release) came as if they knew something was coming this year. They continue to heal my soul. And that’s essentially what I told Jillian while thanking her before my photo. (if there is a collab please leak it)

it's kinda cute to me bc she's so emotionally intelligent when it comes to her art, *especially* this album, like visions is so romantic i..... but simultaneously gets so swept up in what she's doing that seems to enter a whole new reality. her albums certainly sound like it. mean she didn't lie but she's a little late
