Cedric Gervais Talks 'Summertime Sadness' Confirms Y&B as next single
Nightwolf replied to Creyk's topic in New Interviews
Yeah, you can tell. Honestly, hearing him praise Lana impacts me about as much as hearing Stephenie Meyer praise Hunger Games. -

I'm down for this logic, as long as Khaleesi =/= Daenerys in this context. I wouldn't wish Daenerysism (well, I suppose it's a word now) on my worst enemy. (Unpopular opinion, I know.)

New version of Body Electric? (I don't even dare to hope, tho.) -

I don't mind covers if they are done well (which is, like, 5% of cases, tbh), but most of them just end up being a showcase of a dude's/dudette's pipes and that just makes Lana's songs sound really generic (this may be just my bias against oversinging speaking). Or worse, they might actually try and fail to sound like Lana. Lana's songs are just really hard to cover successfully. I don't mind remixes as long as they stay in night clubs and beach parties, where they belong, but radio release of SS remix really annoys me. It's a really bad marketing move, imo, since many GP people who liked Y&B may now throw accusations of selling out (again) or radio play thirst, or whatever and most GP people who like the remix will just not be interested in her actual music, so it's a no-win situation. Doesn't help that they chose the most basic remix they could find. They could have just used that German radio mix, since it's awesome, more radio friendly, actually has a character and isn't a big leap from Lana's actual sound. Or, you know, the album version, but I guess that's too much to ask.

I mean, if you just have it playing in the background, the last couple of songs have really lazy production with the same freaking beats, that make them sort of blend into each other. The production works well in some songs, like OTTR, Blue Jeans (I could do without the loon, tho),etc. but songs like MDM really sound better when they're stripped back, imo. Don't even get me started on Diet Mountain Dew, I'll take demo anyday over that annoying... thing. Don't get me wrong, I do love me some upbeat Lana, but there are songs for that.

Yeah, I don't know how she's gonna top those videos for DP and Cola, they totally slayed everything!! (Seriously, I'm just gonna take any release date she mentions with a grain of salt.)

Oh, well, BTD is imo the worst thing she's ever done, though still good enough to make me notice her, so by no means bad. It was just hit or miss for me and production kinda made it sound all as one long song and while I can listen to anything else she's done all day, BTD is really exhausting for me. Poor girl, polarizes everyone, even her own fanbase.

I kind of agree about Y&B, but, out of curiosity, would you feel this way if it was on Paradise, as it was initially supposed to be? I feel like it's more scrutinized because it's a single. Now if her next album is a turd, then I'd start to worry, but for now, I'll reserve my judgment. Not that I'm trying to force you my opinion or anything.

Yes, Lana, get them acoustics. Ditch (or at least dramaticaly reduce) the beats. Don’t let Emile touch anything. I’m not going to lie, this pisses me off so much, mostly because people who call her anti-feminist don’t have a clue what feminism actually stands for (thank you, tumblr feminazis, for turning the topic into a joke). Most people now think that if a woman doesn’t act manly and doesn’t call tiniest of shots in a relationship, she’s automaticaly anti-feminist, even if that’s what makes her happy and that’s how she wants it. It’s not like Lana goes about the world and tries to promote female submission as the one and only dynamic a relationship could possibly have. God. I’m just gonna kill it here, before I turn it into a long and boring rant. Gimme. Now. This is good to hear, since many people had the feeling she was running out of ideas. Guess we’ll see how she lives up to this claim when her new album comes out, but from the little info we have on it, it sounds fantastic. I hope I won’t overhype it in my mind, though.

OK, here you go, guys. Hopefully it's a bit more comprehensible than Google Translate. Feel free to point out any typos and other sorts of fails, as I'm sure there are bound to be many .
