  1. I agree with all of this, except that Lana has had really good performances in 2014 and 2015. They're just extremely limited because Lana has decided not to perform more than 4 songs from Ultraviolence and Honeymoon combined. The only reason I don't believe the album has been pushed back is because that means Interscope wasted money for no reason. I can't imagine that they'd do that. It's not cheap to get billboards, and getting billboards for an album months and months ahead of time when it's not been completed to a degree that is satisfactory for the label seems like something a label would say no to.
  2. This. Like...fine, Lana doesn't want to do promo, whatever. But there's plenty of work that still falls into their purview that they failed to do. See: Keeping songs out of the hands of leakers. Apparently, Lana's team is so incompetent that Love, Architecture, and another song from the Lust For Life era ended up in the hands of traders. Rather than, say, do their jobs and secure her music...what did they do? They came to Lanaboards. They "contacted" people. The most basic thing that isn't even up to the artist themselves, they couldn't do. There's also that promo doesn't HAVE to be done by the artist themselves personally. So Lust for Life could have been pushed harder even without Lana's input. So there's that. Edit: Hell, the fact that a stan/trader (Eclipse) was able to get access to Lana because he had access to her music is an example of them not doing their jobs.
  3. She could just quit music if that's how she feels. There's no point in wasting her fans' money, time, and good will. And there's more to promo than touring and interviews. Like, even doing something to make sure people know your lead fucking single even exists.
  4. So, are these snippets of a live rehearsal or of an actual demo? I've heard at least three different things about it: that it was a rehearsal, that it was a demo, and that it came from the other version of AKA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5FNuHjD9HU According to Eclipse (I think), the song should still be on the album. Also, it's title is not Best American Record. That being said, I'm not sure if that's true anymore. But it's also been falsely claimed to be an Ultraviolence outtake.
  5. There are two of them. They should be able to focus on more than one person.
  6. While I agree with this, I also agree that it's unsustainable. I don't think Interscope would continue to bankroll albums that underperform solely because the artist just does not want to do work. I also don't think Lana can continue propelling herself forward off the strength of Born To Die (especially when Ultraviolence is a classic in its own right and Honeymoon is a decent effort). And I don't think even hardcore Lana stans would continue to pay to see her perform songs from an album that's half a decade old while she completely ignores her more recent work except for maybe a song or two (myself included). I don't think Lana can continue the way she's going, simply put, even if she does well for herself without promo for now.
  7. Eh. G-Eazy doesn't seem fugly to me. He just looks like an average frat boy-type to me.
  8. So uh Someone should ask Eclipse what's happening with the album, since he might know. Like, has it been pushed back? Cancelled?
  9. Which has she done? I only know of the Dazed one.
  10. This. Lust for Life could have been really successful, if Lana was actually putting in work. There is no plan. There isn't even a release date Uhh, that's not how music in 2017 works. For a song to smash, it needs to be on rotation on radio stations. Lust For Life hasn't been. I don't even know if Love was played that much on the radio. And the fact that the song did as well as it did without radio play, without even the slightest bit of promo to let people know the song even exists (beyond its premier)...is pretty good. And it speaks to Lana's fanbase.
  11. It's not about being impatient. It's that this entire era has been a mess. Bingo.
  12. This is the same woman who released a single featuring a popular artist and did zero promotion for it besides its initial premier on BBC Radio 1. This is the same woman who had posters and billboards promoting this album put up before she even had a release date. I love Lana, but tbh never doubt that she or her incompetent team will do something stupid when it comes to releases or promotion.
  13. Not gonna lie, if the 26th isn't the release date of the album, my hype for Lust for Life will probably be dead. I know I'll obsessively listen to it on repeat like I always do with Lana releases, but the hype really won't be there. And if everything is completely silent like this, I'll probably just be mad.
  14. I don't really understand these "she's putting off the pre-order to prevent it from leaking" theories. Even if she puts off the pre-order, there's nothing stopping the album from leaking even at this very moment if someone has gotten their hands on it. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised that it didn't leak already, since Architecture and Love were in people's hands.
  15. Anybody that votes Lana Del Rey is delusional. She can't even handle promoting her singles competently, so she's not even dominating her own field in 2017, let alone music full stop.
  16. i quoted you again. and bad disease is the name of one of her songs. yikes @ you.
  17. So, "Ultraviolence" (song) was a reworking of a song called "Melancholia". Was "Melancholia" actually recorded? Like, could it potentially leak? Likewise, Lana said that "Old Money" was a reworking of "Methamphetamines". Does this mean that there's a longer version of "Methamphetamines"? Or that a demo of "Old Money" uses "Methamphetamines" lyrics?
  18. But it's not plagiarism. Sharing titles doesn't make something plagiarism. And, if it was plagiarism, then Iggy Pop was a plagiarist, because Lust for Life is the title of a Vincent van Gogh biography and the movie of that biography, both of which precede Iggy Pop's album by decades.
  19. You sound very upset about this, and for no reason. Also, there are a number of songs with the title Lust For Life. There's no reason to have a stroke over this.
  20. I love that everyone here said that 20 tracks would be too long. Chris Brown is apparently releasing a 40 track album. Lana needs to outdo him.
  21. It sounds like you could benefit from Adderall.
  22. This era seems to be more of a disaster than Ultraviolence or Honeymoon. No tracklist, preorder, or confirmed release date for the album. No video for Lust For Life. No promotion at all from Lana's side. We, her fans, are doing the work of promotion for her and her team. All I care about is that she gets critical acclaim but jeez. Do more.
