I was 13 when I got into her in 2011 not because of her music but of how beautiful she looked, then everyone started crushing over Bradley Soileau in the BTD mv and I got obsessed and never looked back. Then there was this huge thing called ACTA that was supposed to stop all the music piracy (yeah right) and I got scared and instantly started looking for her songs to download and I found out that her debut album leaked and I downloaded it and also found a bunch of unreleased music (I didn’t know English at that time and I literally thought “unreleased” was her other’s album name lmfao). I even made a Facebook page where I was shitposting pictures of her that I liked which later turned into her official polish fanclub this whole thing later gave me so many friendships and opportunities that aren’t even related to her it’s crazy, stanning her literally shaped my adult life so much

Did you know that all of your social media algorithms are literally personalized based on things you watched and liked 💀
-
I don’t think it belongs to queer people only sometimes it’s just for straight ppl the inclusivity/empathy bar is literally in hell
-
Yeah I didn’t really think about that at first too but at the same time I think it would’ve been nice if he included some bigger body types in the video and it wouldn’t make it any less sexy tbh, honestly with this whole body liberated vibe it would just make sense and make the video even hotter
-
I don’t really know how to describe it but I think people expected him to include different body types because as queer ppl we tend to give platform to those who are often discriminated more or less like us, idk about other countries but in Poland body positivity is mainly promoted by queer culture and since we’re more open minded we help each other and try to be inclusive in every possible way

It’s a polish model @alexanderlook
-
you mean the one in the intro? she's not really big

it's unfortunately a part of growing up as a queer not because we're so sick obsessed over being sexual but for many ppl having dating apps is the only option of meeting queer ppl as they don't feel comfortable/safe enough or don't even have possibilities to meet them irl like i agree it fucks up our brains and people become sex obsessed or end up having body issues bc of it but at the same time can't really blame them if it often is the only option for them to explore their sexuality, i just think these apps should be way better moderated and have actual age verification but once again it's not really queer culture's fault we often can't safely grow up without being exposed to that kind of apps
-
yeah that's why i'm saying it's unfair cause every little thing queer people do is seen as a "representation" of us and i'm sick of it i really get your point of view and i respect it i just think we shouldn't see it as a take on the whole community
-
i mean if you think i got something wrong you could just explain it to me and we can keep the discussion going babe!
-
yeah personally i think lil nas x is the only one that recently suceeded in having actual sex appeal in gay ahh music videos
-
yes but if WAP isn't being criticized as a wrong representation of straight ppl why are people criticizing rush for the same thing but for queer culture
-
if there's nothing wrong with mvs like anaconda or wap there's definitely nothing wrong with rush
-
also, another example for me of how queerphobia is being deep rooted in our brains is how you instantly went on linking both things - a queer artist releasing a sexual video and queer people being naked on the streets - these are two completely different things and i don't really think they're related at all! if a straight artist did something nasty the public never judge the entire straight culture because of it, like we can just be critical of his individual art and not feed into this whole propaganda against queer people because even if we're somehow a community we should never be judged as a whole
-
yeah i'm also not a fan of pride becoming a kink parade but i don't think troye releasing a sex liberating video is on the same level
-
i think your opinion is mainly based on being shamed as a queer person for even thinking about expressing your sexuality (as most of us were/still are) bc there's way more "sex anthems" on the market by straight artists than queer artists and people dont really gaf about it because it's so common for them... but when it's from a gay artist it's suddenly an issue and it basically comes from internalized queerphobia is what i'm saying

just like you for once again hasn't fallen victim to the be a decent human being mob lol

i dont know if people have any idea how queueing works but i always had a hotel nearby and its super common for people to just go take a shower and fresh themselves up before the show like i dont recall anyone being stinky and anything like that its not like you literally have to be 24h+ nonstop in the queue, you can literally do anything you want for a few hours, the key is to check in and get to know everyone and be friendly then you can do pretty much anything as long as you dont just vanish for the whole day and go back just in time for the show e.g. in italy i went to take a shower and change my clothes twice at the day of the show and i even offered other ppl from the queue to go with me and use my shower like if you're with civilized people queueing could be super easy and fun

i get it that lyric is problematic but having it visualised in front of you makes it like... double problematic like there's a difference between singing something and making a dummy dance move out of that lyric -
