".....get that doo-OO-oo-OO-oo-OO-oo-OOUGH!"

The white Mercedes in the 1999 video... she did that on purpose didn't she? Btw... 2M views!!!

I was really into those kinds of bands through my high school years and a lot of them I can still go back to and enjoy... Blink-182... also Bloc Party, an alternative/indie band from London, England, was a big "high school" band for me. Really loved their Silent Alarm and A Weekend in the City albums, then after that they kinda fell off IMO. More recently though in the last couple of years, I haven't been as into Blink-182 either, after they kicked out Tom. It just isn't the same without him.

Saw some Entertainment Weekly promo yesterday too... MTV News, The Chainsmokers tweeted at Charli and Troye... probably missing some other notable ones... The BBC published an article... There’s some really good outreach going on right now! Charli’s back at the top!! :flutter:
-
Hopefully on the next album/mixtape... :defeated:

Not only that, but now the Backstreet Boys and film director Neill Blomkamp (who I don’t even think was apart of anything that was referenced in the video but worked on Stargate in the late 90’s and some notable 00’s films and TV shows) have tweeted at Charli and Troye saying great things... If some of these other “features” tweet out about the video, it could really get out to a HUGE audience!
-
Finally had a chance to really sit down and watch the MV... This somehow feels really big! They definitely put some work into this video and Charli really looks great!
-
It’s Charli BABY!!! The video is great... also who noticed the Ty Beanie Baby font at the end? That’s about as “1999” as you can get lol. Can Charli go huge now please?
-
**tire screech** ”.....GET IN!”
-
Funny, I’ve been thinking about getting some of those white ones too for a while... Queen of product placement!
-
So didn’t the AMA’s just happen? Would’ve been a nice place for some 1999 promo, video debut... something... If it reaches a wider audience, this song goes huge. 100%.

“...DOES ANYONE REMEMBER HOW WE DID IT BACK THEN??”

Well what can I say? Can't help having good taste... Idk, knowing it's a demo and probably not as polished, it's hard to be excited about it... especially when there are multiple versions. Like what if the song completely changed somewhere along the way and it didn't sound as good as the teaser? We've heard some snippets... But... if Charli polished up the SXSW version where it had the live SOPHIE tempo and maybe some nice new additions that fit the mood and vibe, and got it to a point where she felt good about releasing it, I'd be pretty hyped for that lol. She doesn't release lackluster material... I guess what I'm saying is, if something is obviously a demo, there's a reason it wasn't ever released ya know?

Charli seems so happy and healthy these days, I wish she would just stay clean... never liked the idea of drug use.
-
FYI everyone: 1999 has jumped over like 250k views on YouTube since yesterday, approaching 1M... shouldn’t be long!
-
Did anyone catch the bit in that interview where she was like, “I’m sticking with the POP 2 sound...”? :flutter:

The queen hears our cries!! :defeated: It’s good to see some formal acknowledgement (and quality journalism... lol) regarding RNR and Taxi. I just hope when it really gets down to it, she feels like she can still use these leaked tracks... she and her collaborators have worked hard to put these tracks out. Her fans will support her no matter what. No sense in scrapping them... it’s not like the GP is even aware of these leaks anyway.
-
Maybe they’ll drop it when/if they eventually ramp up album promo... Hopefully it’s not a ways off like everything has been this era.
-
Ask her to release XCX World lol ...probably a bad idea. EDIT: Someone should definitely ask about another Vroom Vroom EP or something though!!
-
It’s pretty cool how PC Music type stuff is really starting to finally influence the progression of pop music... and to think our queen predicted it like 2-3 years ago now. Ughhh, take me to the future Charles! :defeated: ...she REALLY did that tho!
-
I feel like I saw it jump nearly 100k views in a matter of hours yesterday...
-
Oh wow, yaaaassss... More Charli stuff like this please! lol
-
It's always through Charli that I find the GOOD stuff in terms of new pop music... like either through her features, radio shows, or even just related videos. YouTube just started playing the new Rita Ora song after 1999... sorry this is kinda off topic... but WOW it's amazing! That production took such a great, unexpected turn. Charli and Rita are my U.K. pop queens for sure. :flutter:
