  1. First of all, I am always right and should never be questioned. I thought this was an established opinion by now. You must be new here. Anyways: I already said, I dislike Yung and Bettifjuel. Hate it, actually. However, it was a song that did wonders to her career in the US. Many people remember her for that song because of Gatsby. Video Games was a huge hit. BTD (the song) recieved the same amount of acclaim and was a Top10 hit. Blue Jeans is one of her signature songs. And Summertime Sadness is her biggest hit. In terms of critical reaction West Coast and Brooklyn Baby were recieved as the best ones on UV. And no, TBD is not a career highlight. Maybe when Cedric remixes it.
  2. Ok, but the Latin / South American charts are really unimportant for the sales in terms of big numbers. The big markets are already known. And no, TBD is a good song, it ain't however a highlight in her career. Her career highlights remain: Video Games, Born To Die, Blue Jeans, Summertime Sadness, West Coast and Brooklyn Baby, maybe Young and Beautiful because it is the one with good streaming numbers and overall exposure, although I personally dislike that song, This is not just a personal opinion,
  3. Nobody should have expected great sales for this album anyway. There is no hit on the album. HBTB simply can not be played by the radio and nothing else on it is something that could blow up. Of course Interscope / Polydor won't push it and Lana doesn't do it either, because they know it. Writing hit songs doesn't mean it has to be generic. Video Games, Blue Jeans or Summertime Sadness weren't generic either. It's just that no song on this album really battles other songs in her discography as a career highlight. This release feels more like a Paradise 2.0
  4. I totally get that she ain't a Katy Perry and that's okay. It is just to me, personally, disappointing when my fave releases an album and makes a few magazine shots (sometimes even without an interview) and calls it a day and vanishes right after. Like, there is so little vision behind this release. Sales and stuff is just a result of that, but not the reason for being disappointed. Like, even her Honeymoon account is basically dead and buried. And these random attempts at promo with the Honeymmon hotline. First of all, it doesn't work for weeks, then Lana is on the line, for like 5 minutes and all she has to talk to her fans is saying: "You're 16?. That's so cool". Like wtf?
  5. she will sell more than 500k but less than a million and with low streaming numbers and no hit single. tragic. a flop overall.
  6. I have put it on ignore. I really couldn't handle the crap any longer
  7. It's quite pointless to discuss what Lana owes her fans and what not. In all seriousness, yes she can handle things the way she wants. She also has to live with the consequences. We as fans also make decisions. The relation between star and fan is not a one-way road. Some of us will leave when just dropping an album is simply not enough. When there are no live performances and when there is no interaction, she can hardly expect to maintain her fanbase in solid numbers. Her decline is the biggest since she has appeared I have seen. She wants things her way, but obviously it ain't working out for her. And pls, don't post: Lana doesn't care about the charts and money!!!111! If she didn't, she would release her shit for free Discussed thousands of times already, we as individual fans view it differently. And we have every right to do so.
  8. I really keep coming back to Swan Song. It's the song I play the most. Anybody else noticed how after the title track none of the songs really thematically belong on an album like Honeymoon (which doesn't make them bad, just to clarify), but after BN they do? Am I alone in this?
  9. Oh wait. Marina quits music? That is actually great news! Jk, dear Marina stans, but is that true?
  10. Oh my goodness, the stupidy that gets posted on here. Tours are what keeps an artist going. It is the most profitable part of the business. And also the best way for fans to be close to their artist and enjoy the dynamics of a big crowd while watching their fave perform. I just can't. Time has come to hit the ignore button.
  11. No, she didn't. Stop spreading false information. The Weeknd, Fallout Boy, Luke Bryan, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Meghan Trainor Florence And The Machine alone sold more during the first week. Let alone Drake, who charted twice with bigger numbers, having 2 albums this year selling more during the first week. Dr Dre, too. Or Lana's labelmate Kendrick Lamar. I ain't bothered enough to count more of them. So, no. Lana's numbers are actually not anything special. Rather the opposite. Selena's numbers ain't surprising. She was never an album seller. Her last album didn't even go Gold in the US. But at least, when her album sales ain't that great, she can still call a big hit this year in the US her own. Lana can't since her singles after the Summertime Sadness remix ain't selling shit. And Janet didn't open up with less than 100k. She sold 109k which is 4k more in pure sales than our homegirl. Besides, Janet selling over 100k in this sales climate as a veteran is pretty impressive. Lana as a quite new artist should outdo her easily, which she didn't. So pls, before you post, rather inform yourself and stop trolling this place.
  12. that ain't for the sales, although they would improve a bit, but yeah, it would be nice to hear the songs in a live setting and let's be real, these days you don't even have to be booked on TV shows or able to pull off a big tour if you really wanna sing the songs live for your fans. It's so easy.
  13. I just had an epiphany, I need to go to Tiffany's Aaaaanyways, why doesn't she do a live set and puts it on YT performing songs from Hennymoon? I mean, she could just rent a room, let her band come over, hire like two or three background singers since she wants to work with some in the future anyway and let Francesco hold the camera. She could play like 6 songs from Honeymoon and upload it on Vevo. If she doesn't want to perform on TV or TV shows simply don't wanna book her and a tour is prolly not happening anyway, she can at least do this. She has all the resources she needs: money to pay the musicians, material to work with and a boyfriend who is a director.
  14. Watched it yesterday. I mean, i knew I would hate it since Ratga is in it, but damn, this was bad. The only two AHS seasons I liked will remain 1 & 2. Everything went downhill since then. Last year was painful to watch. And this year, it looks so bad, I already want to kill Ryan Mumps or however that dude is called who is the director or whatever. Also, I really wish somebody would finally murder Gaga and throw her in a river. That's all!
  15. I wish somebody would hand Lana Depeche Mode's "Songs Of Faith & Devotion and Ultra. Especially the former is a beautiful, dark album, the live album of it is even better. It would totally be her cup of tea.
  16. I hope she will announce tour dates in Europe for early 2016
  17. Just heard some things from the interview compilation on Spotify. Interviewer: Me and my wife just saw Lady Gaga in concert. Lana: Amazing...amazing Lana, you liar, I love you!
  18. I really love Swan Song. It should have gotten a video. It has become a standout for me on this record along with The Blackest Day, 24, Salvatore and Terrence Loves You. The second half in general is way stronger than the first one.
  19. Dude, stop talking trash. Lana has a joint venture deal with Polydor / Interscope records. These labels share costs and risks and outcome. Her budget is set before the release. She does not have to pay for anything since she ain't on a 360 deal anyway. Only 360 artists have that risk. Katy Perry for instance (aka Queen of Pop and the lady who has ended Gaga's career) is also not on a 360, because she is clever unlike Gaga who has a 360 deal with Interscope records. Katy also topped Forbes this year. There are different contracts you can sign as an artist.
  20. Well, she said in the Interview Magazine that she will bring in new producers and open up. Who is currently really producing exciting stuff? Anybody has an idea? I mean, I hope she takes two years off and really focuses on different experiences and places that will hopefully improve her writing, but I find it hard to see her with some producers she has not worked with before and who are doing an amazing job. Any ideas?
  21. Well, when it comes to the commerical performance, there is no way to twist it the way you want. This is like math. Numbers don't lie.
