BAR deserved to be finished even though it leaked. It is one of her strongest demos. The atmosphere of that song is just so magical.

It was a aJames Franco project, who has always been fascinated by her. Was supposed to be done by 2015. It was also at the time they were friends (doesn’t seem to be an « active » friendship right now). It consisted of real and imaginary conversations between the two. The cover showed a lot of polaroids they took together, in the summer after UV came out. I guess the « imaginary » part of their conversations would not have been separated from the real ones, thus having us question every part of the book (it’s only speculation though) Franco published later a poetry book called Straight James / Gay James and one of the poems is called « Lana Del Rey ». With MAC and the second single perhaps?

The second single will feel « end of summer » like she said. And the last time we had two singles, they were « sister tracks » like she called them. Singles are released pretty much any day of the week (the albums get out on Friday); with the snippet already out, maybe MAC will be released on Tuesday or Wednesday? MAC seems to be about that infamous interview... She teased her notion of happiness on HIaB... Her famous SNL performance is (was?) on her VEVO channel... Anyone feels like the new album will be about « facing her demons », the subjects she avoided for years?

Who knows? If she hasn’t, she simply crossed-referenced Yosemite, like the dripping peaches that are in a couple of songs of LFL and the red party dress.

I think the other single she will release will probably be the sister track to Mariners Appartment Complex, and it will have a sorta of summer vibe to it (but everybody guessed that I think) Can’t wait to see if these are stand-alone or part of an album. But with Jack involved, an EP would be the minimum i think?!?

I am not saying the everything on Reginsider is true. not at all, actually, and with Lana, it's always tricky: is the account really that well connected or is it just bullshit? if it happens, it looks like it was legit info; if it doesn't, anyone can say that Lana changed her mind... But the singles released at the end of summer gives it more credibility. ​But we'll see. ​Just so fucking glad for the new song. Curious to see if it is a reworked Yosemite or something else. And the second single will have us wondering for hours / days.

Give her time ​Common practice, nowadays. The lead single plays for a couple of weeks, then the album announcement... H Folk allows to show her incredible warm voice... Love those vibes. Perfect for her.

From what she said in interviews, it was supposed to be « desert », « the sister song to BAR ». The chorus, though simple, seems very cute and gentle, especially if the acoustic guitar plays along.

Interesting! Yosemite should have been with the BAR ep. pretty much all of the love songs would have fitted there. I am curious about LDR6, for the sound of it and track listing. As time goes by and as chances of having Yosemite on LDR6 could go slimmer by the day (Lana tires easily of anything she does as months go by), i think an EP between LFL and LDR6, including BAR, Yosemite and a couple of outtakes from LFL, could have been a good idea, a good way to « extend » the LFL era while still offering something new to the fans.

IMO, LFL might be her only album whose songs are difficult to listen to without the one before and the one after. Or if you break down the album, you have to do so by listening to trios of songs, like Heroin-Change-Get Free. All her other albums are super cohesive, but you can listen to Pretty When You Cry on its own, for example. LFL kinda lacked that. Anyways, to me, her most cohesive album is HM, closely followed by UV. LFL does tell a messier story, one where she is looking everywhere. I love that album, even if it didn’t have that « vintage magic » (with UV and HM, it felt as if I had found two old vinyls in a flea market, by a forgotten bluesy singer from another age).

I believe LFL will be the album we will go back to in a couple of years and we’ll better understand its place in Lana’s discography and storytelling. And I don’t get the « this album has not aged well », since music these days draws a lot of its energy and beats from the past decades. I get that LFL had a lot of trap beats that are really everywhere these days, but BTD was really contemporary as well, with its hip hop beats and samples (the strings were the classical element to the mix). UV and HM truly were rooted in deep classical genres, making them timeless. But we’ll have to see what is LFL’s legacy in the years to come. I wouldn’t be surprised, if the polical climate worldwide changes, that the hated « political » songs from the record find a « second life » or a new meaning in the future.

I haven’t yet written anything on the matter because I know how the whole geopolitical situation in the Middle East is touchy to say the least. And I am not that informed on the subject either, so I didn’t comment because I lacked Facts. But I know that many artists have been criticized for doing so in the past. In the end, I believe she did the right thing by canceling her show. The « neutral » position on the subject is the safest at the moment for an artist (if you perform in Israel, you have to perform in Palestine as well to « balance it out). She had good and pure intentions (to please her fans, to « be the change you want to be in this world », to bring her contribution, that her message for peace through music could be a water drop in a ocean , hopefully causing a storm that would wash away all the mess we did over the Ages). It may be naive to think so, but I get where it came from, and it was from a pure heart. Thanks for your inputs on the matter. The debate got heated, but it was inevitable since the whole thing is soooooo heated as well.

Maybe the album was pretty much done until she met Jack A. and decided to rework it. Like what happened with UV what she met Dan A. Who knows?

It's never going to happen, but... Imagine Lana releasing her acoustic demos for many of the songs of LFL... Throw in RBFY and Yosemite and here is the folk album so many of us would die for.

The rock rock album style would really suit her well... but as weeks go by without news and as a 2019 release is more and more plausible, would that armosphere fit a winter release? Just wondering here...

If she's mad, I don't get it. I mean she is cute AF on that picture. It's not as if she is on a toilet, minding her business or something. It's really too quiet: usually, we wouldn't even mention this kind of «news» .

Same. I am all for Lana taking her time before releasing an album. I don't mind the silent treatment via social media (LFL was teased wayyyy too soon, and I hope LDR6 won't be, though all signs point to that). But to tease HIaB in late March is still teasing too soon. If she releases LDR6 in 2019 like some of you think she will, it would almost be a complete year of nothing between the two. Hopefully, it won't come to that and the album will be out this fall. is it just me or is she less and less in the studio these days? Maybe the whole thing's done
