I didn't like the album on first listen, but it's very much a grower. Certainly not even close to HIFN/Pop 2 quality, but it's good and getting me pumped for the summer. It's a more substantial version of "Sucker." Lightning, Move Me, Yuck, Crash and Used to Know Me are my favorites. Aka all of the non singles. Lol

More confirmation of another LDR/Jack album? God is real... If she pushes him to make an album full of White Dress, Venice Bitch, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, The Greatest caliber songs...I might not be able to survive

Trying to be more accepting or at least respectful of other people's opinions, but I still think that people are being overdramatic about the pianos. It's alright not to care for the more relaxed, acoustic vibes of NFR/COCC/BB, but it's more apparent to me that she's going to continue going down this route than make a sudden return to the bombastic. LFL truly was a gift for the fans who loved those first three records. Maybe she'll make another gift one day, but for now I would just suggest keeping your expectations low and hope for that day but also be realistic about how this may just be where she continues exploring for a while. Especially with the state of the world being in such crisis, I can't imagine "bops" or songs with full orchestras coming back any time soon. And adding on to what @West Coast said, "Sweet Carolina," "Dealer," "Black Bathing Suit," "If You Lie Down With Me" and "Text Book" are career highlights in terms of production.

The run from Dealer to Sweet Carolina tops the run from Cruel World to West Coast for me. An in-fucking-credible sequence of tracks. I feel like if the songs never leaked, more people would probably agree, but I digress. I'll appreciate them on my own.

Sweet Carolina is one of my favorite songs in general, so YES please

Ok, hope is restored..because the singles have led me to believe this would be her Solar Power for me. So disappointed in them i'll be listening on release night
-
Is the rest of the album better than the singles?
-
Ceremonials is her Ultraviolence to me. Both albums have a handful of their best songs EVER, but also some tracks that I would switch out for superior outtakes or bonus tracks.
-
Ceremonials is a fantastic record, but there are some tracks that I would remove from the tracklist in a heartbeat. Where all of the tracks on Lungs and HBHBHB feel necessary. Overall, those first three records..yeah she'll never top them. Really enjoying "My Love." King is my favorite thus far, though

Time for an update?

If we really are getting LDR9 this year, I think we won't hear anything until after FJM's album comes out.

ok, mr. insider.

Disgusting! It's always in this thread, too. I want to find those posts again.

If we're not speculating about her being pregnant, we're speculating about her being on drugs or diagnosing her with a mental illness, I see

Not what I was expecting, but I like it a lot. King and Heaven is Here are 1,000 times more interesting than anything on High as Hope.

King is my SOTY so far, i'm so excited for this and hopefully it comes with an album announcement
