  1. omg i swear i thought i dreamt that entire thing of tostb on tumblr days
  2. https://www.insidehook.com/article/music/lana-del-rey-chemtrails yall who made this fucking picture? someone used it in an article I CAN'T AT THE PIC BEING TITLED "LANA_DEL_REY_MIGHT_BE_RACIST.JPG"
  3. not the twitter lana accounts coming up with "theories" of why lana took down the posts. it's prolly because the songs are already out and she's planning a proper announcement soon
  4. I'm finishing Dune. Last like, 200 pages. I'll probably finish it by Friday. I just went ahead and ordered the next 2 books and a few other books I've wanted to read
  5. it's just interesting that she didn't post a music video for the song, but she's still keeping the release dates up on her insta. idk, that's what makes me wonder what's going on with the album. obviously we've gotten these three tracks, so i'm not worried that the album is cancelled or anything, i know it's still gonna happen but it makes me wonder if she's still pushing for that july 4th release date she teased
  6. It's so interesting. lana took down the video of BB from her insta and has kept the BB album date up and the RCS date up too
  7. It doesn't make sense for it the be the same song. She uses similar words or the same words often. I think it would have that same California, Thunder sound from before. I could be wrong but it just wouldn't make 100% sense to me
  8. That wasn't the problem for me, it was the cheesy Lana lip syncing into the video. It would've been fine if she wasn't transparent and just coming in and out of the video. Lana looked beautiful, her hair looked great and the one who was playing waitress Lana was great too, but I just can't stand cheesy 2000s music videos and that's what it gave me was the same cheesy videos we saw in 2005 where the artist is really trying so hard to be more serious than they have to be. Idk lol im watching it again now and the beginning of the pirate boat scene there's a sign with Pabst Blue Ribbon which is a callback to This Is What Makes Us Girls so that's cool. Idk i just.... at this rate, i'd rather have more music than videos. i just watch the videos a couple of times and then i'm done with them. we'll prolly get a video or two for this era but honestly i don't mind if she doesn't bother and skips to the next era without bothering. I think for me it's also knowing she could do high budget but only does one an era, sometimes less.
  9. honestly tho do we need a video? i think it's very imagery forward in the song itself. idk, in some way i don't really need the videos for songs anymore. i'd love to have them but they're time consuming. i'd rather Lana work on more music rather than videos. like if she's finishing this album, i'd rather her write a couple more new songs that would bridge the way for the next album instead of wasting time for videos that she'll never put out or videos that are lackluster (white dress i'm looking at you)
  10. i wonder how the album will continue lyrically, in the second part of WW she says "hot coffee, i'm better - so i turn" it makes me wonder if she's chronicalizing her treatment or healing process from all of the things that have burned her. her mom, her man in BB, her dad who didn't step in when her mom did it. it would make sense if she's talking about healing from things that burned her including the critics too which we haven't really gotten a song about yet. unless you think about the "let's rewrite history i'll do this dance with you" as a line referring to the critics who dance back and forth with saying she's a bad artist who glamorizes abuse to giving her total critical acclaim. i just hope theres at least one or two other songs about the critics and not just a double meaning line in one song. like you're coming for revenge, let's get 2-3 songs about the critics. don't beat a dead horse and let that energy get stale though. just enough to make your point and move on also now that she said she won't be a wildfire maybe we're moving on from candle in the wind on this album. thank fuckin god oooo what do you guys think is the new red dress/pale moonlight? we had candle in the wind between 2/3 albums (if you count Yosemite from LFL) we're still getting blue, she still loves that color/word
  11. i guess gardenias are the flower for this era huh
  12. I think that's why I love Wildflower so much because when Mike said "Classic Lana" I had no idea this is what he meant. He was talking about some strings and orchestra but it turns out he was also meaning lyrically, she's writing the most Lana stuff and it's so fucking good. I cant wait to hear the rest of the record ughhhhh I hope she randomly drops the album without saying anything like she initially did the singles
  13. theres still so much more to come. billie eyelash, possible adele, nicki minaj, honestly prolly another taylor swift, modest mouse, maroon 5, rise against, tony bennett x gaga 2, drake, and then greta van fleet, st vincent and j cole all dropped albums already. does lana deserve a grammy? yes. will she ever get one? it's unlikely. BB could be the best album ever and still get snubbed by someone like Beck or Modest Mouse or someone fucking random. that goes without saying Chemtrails
  14. also we literally have 30 people in here why are posts still being moved at this point. i'm not gonna move to the 3 single thread. like i get the point from a few days ago but posts are being moved there to die like.... @Elle can moving the posts stop now since it's been a few days and traffic has died down? talking about the songs is talking about the album which is what this thread is for
  15. i like it because it's like a double entendre. its as if she's saying she's screaming for BLM but she's also saying she's screaming for the women who get denied their own fragility and their own feelings, which was the point of QFTC, she just failed to get her point across through the post... its similar writing shes always done, honest and to the point when looking at it twice. and it's true, she's not lying she was at a BLM rally/protest thing in LA last summer/fall time. "he could see us in all our splendor" is kind of what tells me it's a double entendre
  16. That's interesting. You're allowed to feel that way!! Please don't feel like you aren't allowed to feel any way or criticize her music! You're ALLOWED to thats what makes the discussion fun! In some way, I agree with you that it's deeply personal but more blunt than Hope which is strange to me. But it also is so real and honest that I like it a lot. Who knows, maybe once the "my story" era is over we'll get another record that's different. This one for me though, so far, is giving me some sort of discomfort and anxiety. I can only listen to the songs at certain times because of that. Which kind of evokes UV feelings for me because those songs felt so personal too, but this seems even more so I think. Even though it makes me uncomfortable, I can say at least it's VERY well written and I love the lyrics from all 3 of the songs we have so far
  17. this is a great point, i love this!!
  18. I think this is specifically true about Wildflower Wildfire. The more I listen to it the more I realize how personal that track is. The first couple times i heard it i didn't care so much for it but now it makes me tear up, i actually love that song. Which I can say is the first time a LDR song made me feel that way in years Then again, she was trending with over 80k tweets the day the songs dropped. So who knows, maybe she was testing to show her management that she doesn't have to do much, all she has to do is drop songs and albums. That could've also been a test phase for a surprise album release like shes said she wanted to do in the past.
  19. just a heads up, whoever it was I think it was @Mer the lyrics are now on apple music
  20. COCC didn't really tank though? it was exactly what they expected as far as i'm aware.
