  1. she looks absolutely stunning
  2. i find this interesting, because i never considered religion to be sarcastic, in fact i always interpreted at as pretty literal, she's so deeply in love with whoever she's singing about, she lives her life being his lover, no matter what happens, she will always be by his side, he's like her religion, although they have eachother and they are both deeply commited, and there isn't anything getting in the way of that, she still needs him. it's definitely a mature, yet very confessional twist on her usual, fragile, submissive role she usually takes on. i'm glad music is up for interpretation and she doesn't flat out say exactly what her songs are about, because i think it would take the magic away a little bit, since this song is kinda special for me. i'm pretty sure "w" was just an old song on her myspace that is speculated to be wayamaya?

  4. "dying is an art, like everything else, i do it exceptionally well. i do it so it feels like hell, i do it so it feels real. i guess you could say i've a call" - sylvia plath, lady lazarus.
  5. "they say that madness swings to genius" is a quote that i really like and it stuck with me, i really hope she explores that concept on the album / or perhaps on ldr8, i feel like this is a new era for her artistry entirely and i think she's in a very positive, creative spot right now!
  6. i really enjoyed that video, it made me feel strange and it put an ache in my heart for some reason, but it also deeply inspired me. it made me want to explore my creativity and my eccentricity, to embrace it, to express it, but i'm not quite there yet in terms of confidence... but i really liked this.
  7. i love this so much, something about it made me feel a little somber, but she's just so real and open, yet so disjointed in the perfect way. she looked absolutely gorgeous, when she put the soapy loofah over her cat's face it made me a little anxious. lol.
  8. sirens - early spring / late fall, this album is the embodiment of a cold, cloudy day, and i don't mean that in a bad way! aka - i'd say summer, depending on what track, it could be the middle of a sunny day, the middle of the night, where there is a slight breeze, or a scorching afternoon. btd - winter? paradise - summer? ultraviolence - summer, very hot, muggy, dreary summer honeymoon - late spring, early summer, early morning lfl - early spring, where it's basically still winter nfr - late summer, transitioning into fall
  9. serial killer is so uninteresting.
  10. you're welcome! and thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about lana's artistry and how it's perceived by the listener! i would agree that it's definitely subjective, a lot of factors play into how different people perceive, interpret, and enjoy music. i've heard some people describe "maha maha" as witchy, and i can understand why, because of the supernatual, other-worldy imagery, despite being more colorful and upbeat in it's instrumentation.
  11. "witchy" has basically become a meme at this point on lb, but i'll try to answer this to the best of my ability. it's funny, because now that i think about it, i don't really know what lana songs are truly "witchy". a while back, and i'm talking 2017 / 2018 i would of considered cherry to be "witchy", and now i don't really at all, there's nothing about the song that constitutes it being "witchy". another example could be serene queen since i think the lfl era in general is associated with the "witchy" aesthetics, such as the album trailer, but to me, serene queen is not really "witchy", when i listen to it, i feel like i'm hula hooping with a ring of blue fire in a desert. another track that i feel like is commonly associated with the fabled "witchy" aesthetic is the first lfl demo, but to me, that song is more "spacey" than anything. i feel like perhaps the most "witchy" song in lana's discography is probably "season of the witch". to me, a song that is "witchy" would have some eerie, almost halloween like elements to it, to stretch this even further, the song may not necessarily have a "witchy" sound, but may contain lyricism and imagery that is "witchy", and i think a good example of that could be raise me up, with lyrics such as "it's the voodoo mississippi south, sixty nine million stars, birds are flying out of my mouth, spirits creeping in my yard". i didn't mean to write an entire essay but, hopefully this helps answer your question.

  13. ...i think it's kinda strange and unfair to assume that somebody has a personality disorder because it appears as though they pick up on the interests that their partner has.

  20. ed and ben know about it, so it's pretty likely that she knows about it as well, would not be that surprised if she browses it as a guest at times, just to see what people are saying. i wonder what she thinks of us, if she has any favorite members, stuff like that.
  21. 1. lana del ray aka lizzy grant 2. honeymoon 3. paradise 4. ultraviolence 5. sirens 6. norman fucking rockwell 7. born to die 8. lust for life it's really difficult to rank some of these albums because i love them all in very different ways, the only rankings that are 100% concrete as of right now are aka, honeymoon, and lust for life. right now (and always) lana del ray aka lizzy grant is my all time favorite, and honeymoon is a close 2nd, and lust for life has always been my least favorite. i predict that chemtrails over the country club will be in the top 5 at least.
  22. this is really silly but i feel like a lana album titled "the legend of marilyn monroe" would be so funny but honestly i'd love it it's so extra and tacky but i feel like lana could pull it off, i'm envisioning a mix between born to die and ultraviolence.
