I love CB as a whole but (super unpopular opinion here) I always skip Training Wheels, I hate it big time, I find it super corny.

It's stupid that we cannot be objective saying "I love her music but this is wrong and she should do better than that" without a die hard fan attacking being rude just because someone is not praising everything about their fave. I mean, I adore MARINA and I think she is such a well crafted artists, but I know she has said/done some things that are plain wrong and fans are not afraid to awknowledge it (and even tell her on ig or Twitter) and she finds a way to do it better and be a better person along with us.

As a 28 yo Mexican who have lived here his whole life I disagree tbh This is CA by media, not just because you saw it on TV or in the music industry is "something common". There are things that should be kept by the people from a certain culture in order to preserve it. Clearly, Melanie is an attention seeker artist, that's how she has always been, that's her signature and I don't judge her in a bad way, that's just the way she is, it's time to accept that she will always do things (either crazy or plain "differente and unique") in order to stand out because that's her signature and just the way she is. (Again, I'm not saying this as an offense). I really like her music tho, but she most of the times comes to me as someone who should be REALLY careful to not fuck things up in certain cultures and demographic

I kinda feel she feels forced to finish "Masochism" otherwise people would come at her and call her a teasing liar. At this point, I just think the healthiest thing for her would be to release the music she wants with no pressure, I bet the whole sophomore slump thing affects her heavily as she is a critics darling with just her debut album and she wants to shut her label up. I agree, everything she filmed has been scrapped, I'm super sure (just like that Love in Streo MV and those Guardian and Downhill Lullaby videos she claimed to film but there's no proof). I think she scrapped also the covers EP and I'm 99% sure that she won't release shit on April 1st as she said.

Imagine how much money she owes them with all the pre NTMT material.

OK... This girl has so many songs and demos pre-EP that were available way back then or that haven't been released at all, wow. Some of them are pretty meh, a few are interesting and a couple are pretty amazing. I doubt they will ever leak online tho, wish she could give us some closure and release a mixtape or a compilation of rarities, but I feel like those kind of things are very 90s-00s and even though it's easier to release music on the streaming era, artists and labels just won't do rarities releases anymore

I hope her next label truly supports her vision, she is an artist + a money maker and Atlantic has really payed dust to her.

I wanted so hard to see her dancing like crazy in that cute outfit
