Welcome to the Lasso Pre-Pre- Release Thread Annual Discussion & Meltdown! January 31st: Lana Del Rey has announced the title of her newest record "Lasso" during the NMPA x Billboard Songwriter Awards + Showcase. She claimed the album will be a country record with production by Jack Antonoff set for release in September 2024. As of October 2024, the record has yet to be released. What we know so far: - In a journal entry dated March 28th, 2023 posted on Instagram, Jack Antonoff wrote that "Lana refuses to leave [the studio]" - Lana Del Rey has revealed to a fan while at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama that she is "working on a new recording" in July 2023. Later that month, she visited Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama where she recorded 3-4 songs. - In November 2023, Lana Del Rey hung out with Luke Laird, a country music producer/songwriter, in Nashville. They later visited again in January. - In January 2024, Lana Del Rey stated she was working on new songs with Jack Antonoff in an Instagram story post. - In August 2024, Lana Del Rey said, “We have two more [songs] coming out by the end of the year!” in an interview with Vogue. It is unclear if she meant songs with Quavo or solo songs. Potential tracks (unconfirmed): - Henry, Come On (created with Luke Laird, snippet uploaded to Lana's Instagram on January 18th, 2024) - Take Me Home, Country Roads (John Denver cover originally released on December 1st, 2023) - Tough (w/ Quavo) (country/hip-hop collaboration originally released on July 3rd, 2024) - Prettiest Girl in Country Music (country song written with Nikki Lane performed on January 24th, 2022) - Hey Blue Baby (country song performed at Jack Antonoff's Ally Coalition on December 5th, 2018) - I Must Be Stupid For Being So Happy (country song performed at Jack Antonoff's Ally Coalition on December 5th, 2018) - Stand By Your Man (Tammy Wynette cover performed multiple times during Lana's 2023 tour) - Dolly Parton collab (Lana, Nikki Lane, and Luke Laird visited Dolly Parton's home in January 2024)

Earlier tonight, Lana Del Rey attended the NMPA x Billboard Songwriter Awards + Showcase in Los Angeles, California.

She is, they posted about her being one of their artists in this post. Perhaps they haven't updated their website since she allegedly signed last year but wasn't announced until two weeks ago -

Okay but imagine this song with Dolly on the track.. I can hear her voice singing it and I’m sure after so many years in the industry she can relate to the lyrics! I would absolutely die, Dolly please we need this x

Well, not necessarily. It depends on how far along she is in the process, but the earliest evidence we have of Lana working on a new album is from Jack's blog post from late March that stated Lana "refuses to leave the studio" despite Ocean Blvd having been released just a few days prior. For Lust for Life, at least 6 of its songs on the final tracklist were recorded between March - June 2017 and the record was released in July. Similarly, with NFR, at least 5 of its final songs were recorded from January - July 2019 and the record was released in August. So, there's still a chance LDR10 could come in 2024 depending on when she started working on the record and how far along she is. I could see a late summer release at the absolute earliest, especially since it would match up well to when she'll be doing some of her international festival dates. If not though, I think we could still possibly anticipate a single in the third or fourth quarter of this year and then the album within the first quarter of 2025. I think her posting the “Henry, Come On” snippet was a good sign of things moving along rather quickly since she already has music ready to at least share previews of. & then to touch on the covers, the covers for Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, Norman, and Blue Banisters were all taken the same year the record was released. 5 of her album covers were done within 6 months of the album release (all of the above except switch out Paradise for Born to Die) with Ultraviolence having the quickest turn around of 1 month from the photoshoot to the album announcement, then the album dropped another month later. So, the covers seem to generally have a rather quick turnaround. Who knows, maybe she’s already done a few photoshoots or been garnering ideas for them! x

I moved the Dolly pics into their own sightings thread since they appear to be from last week! I originally thought they were from November when Lana was previously in Nashville with Luke Laird, but according to her latest Instagram story, she was also in Nashville with Luke last week too. Also, looking at her nails in the Dolly pics they're red, and they're also red in her latest Instagram story. In November, they were French tips. So, these photos are recent! I attributed them to the day the first photo was shared, but they may have been a few days before. She had been last seen in Los Angeles at Taran's birthday at Yamashiro on the 20th, so they were taken sometime between the 21st-25th x

According to her latest Instagram story, she stated that she’s getting together with Jack this week to do some songs, so she’s actively working on LDR10!

Thank GOD my order finally went through. Secured the heart-patterned cropped long sleeve top from the apple photo! I wanted to buy more things from the collection, but didn't want to push my luck too much and decided just to get one thing to make the checkout process quicker.. and it's probably for the better that I don't spend an absurd amount of money that I don't have anyway lol xx

God if Lana stans managed to crash the entire SKIMS website, I’m NOT looking forward to the inevitable Ticketmaster crises whenever Lana decides to do another proper tour… I just know Kris Jenner is losing her mind rn x

Nope, I have like an eidetic memory when it comes to Lana pictures/info lol. I’ve actually played an easier version of this sort of game before with friends where they show me a picture of Lana and I tell them exactly when and where it was taken lol. This one is a bit more challenging though since it’s just her face, but I’m still able to recognise them just from having her life timeline permanently ingrained in my brain lmao x
