    My new job at this law firm is just... extreme, to put it lightly, and everyone is a nutjob :icant:

    There's just one girl who seemed really sweet, took me for a little tour too and just makes me feel normal there. So today, while working, I noticed she had some music playing quietly in the background and it was RIDE BY LANA :creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep: I thought like omg, it couldn't be :creep: that she's probably just playing it as a one off from somewhere. BUT THEN SHE PLAYED ULTRAVIOLENCE TOO :creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep::creep: those lyrics are too intense for work here, so the low level of sound like, what a dedicated and dangerous gworl :crai::gclap::defeated:

     

    Figures that the one person with a heART around here would be a Lana fan :flutter:

    While driving tonight, a song came on and I was like damn, who dis, before realizing it's Lana, one of her new songs :creep::facepalm:. I barely listened to them (as I didn't exp love at first listen) so I couldn't remember them. And well, WOW it took me on a journey. I realize now that for these specific songs, you have to be in the right kind of mood tbh. It really felt serene and hauntingly beautiful, and as normally/naturally I'm not a calm person, it's harder for me to get into that kinda zone. 

     

    Sounds crazy but in the future I see myself really falling for these songs, as I calm down in life as life goes on :dmd:

    That's just her fire personality as always though (plus I'm sure she expected it to go well lol) whereas music is a different arena imo. I don't think there's a massive difference in her sound since NFR either like BTD-LFL and NFR-BB have different vibes/heavy production vs ballads etc etc :creep:

    I agree 100%, whilst her mature sounding songs are good she needs to let her hair down and have fun because it’s actually getting stale. I like the three songs I’m not bored of them yet, but if the whole album is like this then I’m gonna be very disappointed. She’s lost that fire in her belly she had with the first few records and it’ almost like she’s scared to move because of critics.  I personally think AKA is way more interesting production wise and lyrically then anything she’s done in the last few years.  I’m not interested in her friends or how she wants to paint her banisters, I miss the Off To the Races and Cola type songs where she was more fun….it’ a shame she scrapped Serene Queen.  Now she’s getting influenced by country music and Nicki Lane, it’ not a good sign.

     

    I forget who, but someone here made a post about this a while back, about how they don't blame Lana for staying in one lane kind of thing since finally an album (NFR) was critically acclaimed and widely accepted/praised. I have to agree! Like even though it sucks, I can see why she feels comfortable like this. I hope she realizes that stans are stans though and we've always loved her wild fire no matter what critics thought  :ohno:

    Not me waking up to this and thinking everything got deleted/it’s all over ? This era, so out of no where, is just as chaotic as it is exciting - from sudden/unexpected album announcement to the quiet triple  releases!!

    100%. NFR was released at the worst time of my life and I couldn't handle even songs like FIILY. I feel I still can't listen to that album like normal just because it takes me back to that year. And that's ok!! 

    Hope in the future we can all enjoy tunes we couldn't before :)

    Idk much about her family (never bothered to look into anything like that) but sometimes wonder how her siblings feel about this? Like Chuck and Lana seem super close - even mentioned in multiple songs in a positive way, yet their mom is addressed by Lana coldly and harshly, overall not even really acknowledged as a mother. The lyrics in WW just made it even more apparent just how estranged/strained their relationship is :smokes3:... While Charlie is making some bday cakes lmao like I’m so curious what it must be like for them?¿
