    People were over Alex because during NFR! era she kept on constantly staring at the camera like she was making a Faustian bargain and needed to make sure she was maintaining eye contact or the ritual would fail.

    She isn't doing it this time and she looks nice. We stan a redemption arc. :defeated:

    Can't really form a proper opinion so here are some random thoughts.

    • Kinda pointless but very beautiful, and suits the song very well.
    • She looks gorgeous. 
    • It would have been more powerful if we had seen Lana standing looking into the horizon by herself, and then be joined by Alex and Chuck. If these women in Lana's life are the fighting frontier against her broken heart there should have been some more symbolic emphasis on how they bring her back every time. 
    • Don't you think it would be more interesting if, when Lana, Chuck and Alex were looking off in the disatance, it panned to some kind of catastrophic disaster, such as the fires, or the darker lightning.
    • The tractor thumbs up! Iconic.
    • I thought this would have more friends in it! I like when she hopped off the tractor and there were people walking behind her.
    • Best part is Lana and Chuck cooking, I actually got goosebumps during the second pre-chorus. "Scared of the Santa Clarita fires . . ."
    • Did her cats pokevolve into dogs. Where are the cats.
    • I think Lana either needs acting lessons, or a proper director because the breaking into smiles is fine but she does it all over the place and there seems to be no gravtias when she is feeling down since the remedy is immediate. 
    • Why isn't the epinonymous Nikki Lane in this LMAOOO.
    • Miles better than the video for White Dress (this point might seem kinda random, but since they're both about a personal perspective)

    Overall I like it, I've seen it a few times now, it ameliorates the song for me, and makes me appreciate the lyrics which I didn't really like before now.

    I’m not sure if I listened to the same one as everyone else, but the strings were v minimal like how people described some of the instrumentation in Arcadia being as if you imagined it. But it also sounded kind of fan-made to me (the vocals seemed extra loud) so I’m not even sure it it’s legit :rip:

    The strings version has a quartet prominent throughout, but the biggest indicator is there is an outtro where they are playing harmonics and tremolo. The strings are real. Around 3:29 you can hear the violin play the descending 'Beautiful, beautiful like you' motif . . . so I don't think this is a fan edit unless a fan actually just played all the parts and made this. In which case, props to them it sounds incredible. But I don't think the album has been out long enough for that to happen haha.

    Didn't a member here mention that Boz said on ATRL that the strings version is the final mix but apparently vinyl production was rushed and couldn't have been included on the physicals so it'll be the digital version of the track? Basically FIILY redux. I may be wrong though.

    this was the original mix and then Lana stripped it back for the actual release. We know the leak didn't have it on it, so I'm hoping that is just an early version of the record (Like how Fuck It I Love You had two mixes, my CD has the original mix). Because while Beautiful is one of my favourites, I think the strings make it even more distinct. And we know it's not just a random fan edit since the instruments are real and actually play the melody. 

    Maybe Beautiful will be the next single and there is a second version for release? :um2: It would be a bit of a depature for her but other artists are constantly releasing '[My Song] (String Version' and I would be down for like her entire discography to get that treatment.

    • Drew credited as piano on Sweet Carolina, but Rob is also?
    • Cherry Blossom credits Barrie and Rick Knowles for the piano? Maybe they wrote the parts but didn't record them? But kinda weird to not correctly attribute with an 'arranged' in the credit.

    Hi, it's me again. I don't know what wasn't clear about my multiple polite messages earlier this evening, but we have been very clear that you should not be naming the websites where these leaks are happening. I have been editing posts that include the file discussion and placing users on mod queue. Also, if you are on these sites you are using them at your own risk so stop asking if the files you are accessing are hardcore porn. 

    To be clear, we permit the discussion of music, not the method of accessing it. Thanks.

    We are aware that people online have come into possession of the record. Please do not make any jokes about leaking the album, do not make any open plans to leak it, do not beg for leaks, or make any reference or post any links to released material. Anyone who does this will have their site usage restricted, and potentially may be banned. Please don't push back on this, we will be reacting swiftly towards any users that don't comply.

    To clarify, speculation if it has/will leak is also inevitable, however if it does please do not make references to where it has leaked.

    With that said, if you wish to continue to discuss the album please use the spoiler tags.

    It's not our call! Personally I think it's best to be amicable and try to work with Lana's management, since obviously an army of angry lawyers with takedoen orders and cease-and-desists are likely more powerful than us. Also it's nice to be working with their mangement so that uhh Lana doesn't hate us. :oic:

    So about the site. We would like, and are trying to encourage people, to avoid mentioning the name of the website in the event there is a leak of any kind of material that is considered illegal. The reason being if Interscope's finest come stomping in here and saying "LANABOARD IS SPREADING LEAKS!!!!" we are able to say that actually no one on the public face of the website (ie this thread) is linking anyone or endorsing visiting that site, that our users are simply discussing the music from wherever they happened to find it.

    In particular, for up-and-coming or commercially available material we would always remove links and warn/ban members, but at this point, the website is basically a kind of 'if you know, you know' scenario, and it's kinda pointless to stop people discussing the music. Personally I think it's okay to leave a breadcrumb or crytic clue to say where you might have come across a clip, and we certainly can't control the content on there - the label owns the material but not words lol. This also might seem a bit double standard for certain leaks in other parts of the forum, but most of what comes in from that site isn't intended for commercial release and won't harm sales. There is something kinda fun about the ~secrecy!~ as well. :brows:

    Of course we would remove any mention of material that is requested to be removed, but at the end of the day it's not up to us what is uploaded there, and we can't stop you all talking about what you love (Lana del Rey music!). It might seem a little odd and pointless, but those are the forum rules, and it's also there because certain managers have yelled endlessly at certain forum owners in the past. :eek3:

    If it is, Dealer is definitely on the album and everyone is allowed to say it. Just try to save your thoughts for the spoiler tags just incase people don't want to read.

    Hello everyone! I've moved the most recent spam over to the Random Conversation Thread. As always, I encourage you to post off-topic discussions, GIF chains, and memes over there. Users who contributed received warning points and those who were excessive are now on mod queue.

    In truth I really think most of the GIF chains are pretty hilarious, but please remember the rules and that we've previously asked people to limit the spam. I don't want to give out anymore points or put anyone on mod queue over this especially when the album is so close and I'm looking forward to reading all your reactions. If anyone needs to talk or vent, please feel free to message.
