  1. @ I just feel like the lyrics are not about a lover, but a loved one, like a family member or God. I believed it was about the regret of losing a child in some way, whether it be abortion, adoption, or something else. She, to me, is expressing her longing to someone or something that she knows, but doesn't know very well. After her explanation of the song being about redemption, I think it's about God or a higher power. That's just my take.
  2. There's no saying whether she's out of the nomination or not. From what I gather, she's part of the original pool of nominees, but I'm not sure how the letter will affect the nomination choices. I'm an Oscar junkie, and all I can say is that if anyone gets punished, it will be the person who wrote and sent the letter; especially if the saboteur is another nominee. They would lose the privilege of attendance to the awards, as well as the possibility of their nomination being stripped.
  3. I'm not the only one :') idky why but it still makes sense to me...
  4. @@FirstSpider I have no idea, to be honest. I feel like you could apply the lyrics to a child just as much as you could a lover. I could go deeper, but I'm not lol @@Lanakai is that the picture that started the theory? Cause I just assumed that was a picture of Lizzy with the kid she babysat. Now you got me listening to For K. Or did you post that as a joke? I'm confused.
  5. Please, just don't use Roger Ebert as your icon, I feel disrespected for him. Let him repose a little.
  6. @@Lanakai I've never heard of that conspiracy! But I'm also not gonna lie, I convinced myself for a while that Bel Air was about an abortion...don't ask, please.
  7. Is it weird for me to think this is too soon? It's just my opinion. And I know Paradise came out a year ago, but I feel like this spring is really soon. I mean, Tropico just wrapped up. We're going straight from goodbye Born to Die, to hello Ultraviolence. I don't know, to be honest, it just seems so soon. But that release information really makes me think that it could be very well into the process. I'm sure before the change from Black Beauty to Ultraviolence (so far as we know) there was a decent amount of demos already recorded, making the change in direction not too difficult. Oh the mystery. What do you expect from this woman anyway.
  8. Nope. I was thinking about it too. I just honestly thought TLotS didn't suit her that well...am I the minority that thinks that :| I'm up for something different, because I appreciate evolution as an artist, but I don't want her to lose what made her...her
  9. @@naachoboy I swear I listen to that clip 50 times a day
  10. Born to Lie: The This Thread Has Been Tainted Forever Until the Release of Ultraviolence Edition
  11. Edward Gallegos - Born to Lie: The I Just Edited This Post Cause I Feel Like an Ass and I Don't Know If I Should Edition Oh boy, that's a mouthful.
  12. @@slang didn't The Weeknd do that, if I'm not mistaken? It would be ballsy, but I feel like her upbeat tracks would be seen as more marketable. I mean, the short amount of time that Lana has gained popularity (in my area, anyway) is incredible. Sure the attraction was to the Summertime Sadness remix, but it lead a lot of people I know to really like her album in general (leading them to apologize to me for thinking I was crazy for being a Lana stan ). But those tracks that are more "mainstream" would lead, I think, to a greater outlook on her Born to Die tracks, and subsequent tracks that could possibly be comparatively similar to what has been officially released. I feel good about Ultraviolence. Kind of nervous, but good.
  13. I have a gut feeling it will take a sorta grunge, rock influenced route. But it totally makes sense to me that it will head into 70s esque territory, a la Summer Wine. She was recording 70s style music with Barrie. Either it was for his new album, her new album, or there's a project all it's own in the making. The news of her recording in LA and Italy (wasn't it?) fit the time frame to me if the album will be out this upcoming summer. I think it will still be cinematic, but I think she'll take a really different but still appealing and Lana-esque route.
  14. I hope she performs. And can someone explain to me cut off dates for songs to be considered for nomination? I mean, Adele, for crying out loud, how many times can Skyfall be nominated. I feel like it's been out too long to be considered for noms anymore.
  15. Honestly that transition between the Garden of Eden and the strip club. So effortless!
  16. Everyone's reaction to Lana eating the apple was brilliant. Body Electric was so intense and Bel Air was incredible.
  17. I thought of Hit and Run when I saw the title. But I'm mainly curious if the whole Black Beauty route was scrapped, including her wanting it to be more stripped down and cinematic. Its nice to have new material to look forward too.
  18. No it was a poor choice of words. I'm not perpetuating an argument. By my last comment, I meant that I didn't take other fans into consideration in the sense that they haven't heard her unreleased material. And honestly, it wasn't a retort because I don't have to answer to you. This honestly isn't that big of a deal. Pardon my previous lack of clarity. If you're that bothered, PM me.
  19. It was a general comment, don't blow it out of proportion. Did I consider people outside the die hards? Frankly, no, I didn't. My mistake. No need to get that offended.
  20. @@evilentity I meant to reuse songs. Not that it's lazy to create so many. You took it out of context.
  21. If there is more than one rehash of a song we've already heard, i will be so ticked. It's just lazy to be honest.
