Nobody in here has EVER tried to bring ANY argument that goes beyond "omg it's amazing" to support the fact that it's a good album while we're out here trying to actually deconstruct our feelings and drawing comparisons to have an actual substance and we're the one getting shit saying we're obsessed, tasteless, we're haters, we wanna trash the album

Call me tasteless but she was stupid for not using the intro hook to Gimme (ooh gimme that u-uh gimme that u-uh gimme that u-uh) in the song, it's way catchier than the actual hook/chorus and slaps HARD i mean, the chorus slaps, i just dont get why she didn't use that theme/tune for something else

How does EH sound vintage? It's probably the most early 10s sounding music in terms of production, Primadonna sounds like it's straight out of Teenage Dream and HTBAHB has an EDM drop... Just because she's utilising 50s imagery doesn't mean the sound is vintage too, the sound is very much bubblegum pop and very much new As for the lyrics while I agree Froot has some of her strongest songs (Froot, Happy, Immortal, Solitaire) it also has some of the weakest choruses (I'm A Ruin, Blue, Weeds, Forget), which I love, don't get me wrong, but it's not as consistent with the quality of the writing as it is with the production, the themes, the visuals or literally anything else

I mean obviously you get the gist of it but there are whole sentences that sound like they were written in another language and then translated, for example search is always followed by "for" when you mean "look for", it was probably a french verb that didn't require that preposition and when it got translated something was lost Also semantically phrases like "Why do we keep when the water runs" have no meaning. Which, no biggie, but since the single just came out its worth discussing it imo

It's so weird how they didn't even try to make a decent translation but just ran it through google translate and went with it... "they're making me loathe" loathe what sis?? the translation?? "why do we leave when the chase is done" the chase is done??? the french part translates to "Don't look for me, I'm not there anymore/I'm no longer there" which makes much more sense
