I love hearing everyone’s memories with these songs. 😌 It was a particularly wild era of my life just doing the stupidest shit partying 24/7 when No Lie dropped hahaha
  2. Saw him at 2 different gigs the past 4 days and I just met him after the show today! He said there are plans to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Fear Fun when I asked him
  3. This is really great so pretty and a bit melancholic I saw father John Misty live at the Barbican in London last night and the orchestra was just insane. So impressive and the instrumentation on the new album is magical. It was like being in a brothel in 1920s New Orleans.
  4. This is the coolest thing 😩
  5. It sounds a lot like City Love by John Mayer wtf I was just listening to this song on repeat today 3:20
  6. I've never seen a soul talk about Butterflies Part 2 and it is up there with her best. I can never listen to it once I legit have to listen on repeat for like 45 minutes it's addictive and packed with so many hooks
  7. All credit to @cartoon eyes for somehow identifying the album that was on lizzigrant.com in 2005 and sharing the info with me. The Ordinary – Don't Let Me Die A Waiter I grabbed a copy on eBay dirt cheap and was lowkey hoping to hear some Lana backing vocals or some lyrics that made me think But no... There is one interesting thing about it though. The bassist for the band was none other than... Josh Kemp! The World of Warcraft addict who inspired universally lauded Song of The Decade Video Games This is interesting as it suggests his and Lana's relationship goes back further than originally thought. Here's an article I found on the singer of the band who, surprisingly, is British and from Liverpool??? https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/nyc-gig-scouser-lennon-tribute-3550414 I ripped the CD for any interested in listening as there's no audio available online. The album is from 2004. Listen at your own discretion the songs are pretty unremarkable but it's a cool insight into her very early musical inspirations nonetheless https://dbree.org/v/20558c
  8. Does somebody still have the live video of Jimmy Gnecco performing a song that had this same guitar riff? Video was from 2007/2008 and quite LQ and red. Someone posted it here before
  9. Literally the Dumbest shit ever. Really lost respect for her & Neil for this. Yeah let’s prohibit your fans from listening to your music. Who are they really spiting by doing this.
  10. I just came across this by total chance. I never knew Barrie covered Video Games in 2011! Pretty monotone and boring tbh but interesting nonetheless
  11. Okay now I'm in my feelings I would love to know how their conversation went. PODCAST PLEASE
  12. That’s kind of you @lmdr and I recently talked about how we remember the music video for Summertime Sadness and National Anthem coming so close back to back 😲 Looking back it’s beyond remarkable how Born To Die, Blue Jeans, National Anthem and Ride were all released within 12 months of each other. Those videos, ugh. So extraordinary and such a streak, I don’t think there’s been anything like it before and certainly not since. I’m not feeling too nostalgic about the 10 years to be honest because to me Lana is still as vital as ever, I have even more respect for her now and I’m so much more in love with my life today than I was when this album was released, plus she has released even better albums since in my opinion. So the one thing that really stands out to me from this era is the quick succession of super stylish, epic, ambitious, bar-raising videos. That will never not be such a mind spinning feat. I did write this for a post on @lanavault instagram When you so steadfastly walk your own path it can take a long time for people to catch up. They might even try to assassinate your character and discredit your artistry in the process. But “what’s real can’t die”. Lana arrived with Born To Die, a fully realised, widescreen vision “honoring love lost”, 10 years ago today. A total disruptor of an album exploring the glamour in the sordid and finding the grandeur in the banal. Part-reality-part-dramatisation and entirely urgent. Thank you for always cutting through the noise and having the conviction to follow through on whatever feels right—even when it’s the harder thing to do. For endlessly working to get to the core of yourself through your art, having the courage to share it with the world and teaching us something about ourselves in the process. You’re a guiding light to so many and our lives are better for you having touched them @honeymoon 🌹
  13. I'd rather be the real damn thing than the prettiest girl in country music. There's no end to her ability to just write epic one liners. And the story of the song continues proving she has this innate ability to build such great lyrics from things she hears people say. Like when she said the Dennis's last stop before Kokomo line was literally a boyfriend telling her the bar they were in was the last place Dennis Wilson stopped in at before his death.
  14. Love the new song. Really fun writing. Such a Lizzy grant title. She never stops and I'm so thankful. She's in her Your Band Is All The Rage and All Smiles bag
  15. So cool she can just show up in random bars and do secret shows after playing to 100,000s of people around the world. Totally designing the life she wants. Now just do secret solo shows at some NYC bars 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
  16. Tap really are showing some initiative securing this sync. Really cool and unexpected way for a song to debut!
  17. I GOT LONDON TICKETSSS! Have been waiting for him to come back for years 🗣
  18. I think these are very accessible upon first listen and amongst my favourite songs of his: 1. Only Son of the Ladiesman 2. Nothing Good Ever Happens at the Goddamn Thirsty Crow 3. Strange Encounter 4. Ballad of the Dying Man (Lana was clearly influenced by this for The Greatest) 5. Please Don’t Die 6. Just Dumb Enough To Try 7. God’s Favorite Customer
  19. He is always on rotation but I’ve been unconsciously listening to every album a LOT the past few months. Not really connecting with Funny Girl but very excited he’s back. I can’t believe he’s playing a London show in April! Trying for tickets tomorrow Is anybody familiar with the early J Tillman albums? I listened to a few songs here and there on YouTube and have always wanted to get familiar with them but it’s daunting. Any standouts?

    Miley Cyrus

Just watching performances form the special. It looked like a total spectacle. She really is The Last Great Superstar™️ Such an old school entertainer nobody else has what it takes to do it like her

The new song she performed last night and posted on IG is fucking amazing! It sounds like a bona fide instant classic. The performance is phenomenal. She has become such an electric artist. So excited for what’s to come because it sounds like some 70s rock classic. Impossible for me not to be enamoured by her
  22. Fuck Him All Night is the second song on the Sweet Carolina song radio on Spotify for me. So funny could you think of a two more jarring songs…
