I wiiiishhh she would just drop Tulsa Jesus Freak tonight, but knowing her, we might get it next week instead. Probably next Friday, if anything.
And while I still hope we're getting the album Sept. 5 (it'd be similar to Honeymoon's release pattern), I don't think we're getting it any sooner than that.
-
honestly how shook would we be if we got the full album tonight LMAOOO
Do not even put that into this board's collective head ddddddd. I just hope we still get the album on Sept. 5.
It would be nice if she surprise-dropped Tulsa Jesus Freak tonight, though.

I mean, to be fair, Cinnamon Girl's chorus (the best part of the song) sounded nothing like the rest of NFR!
-
I don't think Jack would work with a super commercial poppy type of album for Lana, and I don't think that's what she's going for, either. There may be more of a jazzy, hip-hop vibe to it, but I definitely think the guitar & piano is staying.
-
I kinda want the truck photo to be the album cover. I know it won't be, but it'd be perfect. Textless.
-
Sounds kinda jazzy R&B-ish, wasn't expecting that. I also can't tell if her style this era is Anna Nicole Smith, Gwen Stefani in the '90s, or white girl chola? Either way, it looks good.

She should do a super long ass title to fuck with us - ‘Chemtrails over the country club formally known as White Hot Forever also known as Tulsa Jesus freak ‘.
'Tulsa Jesus Freak: Chemtrails Over the Country Club - White Hot Forever'
She could actually merge the last two titles together, but Tulsa Jesus Freak feels out of place.

I don't want Lana to do a surprise release because all the dumb Twitter gays will compare it to Beyonce & Taylor. If she does anything slightly surprise-based, she should just drop a song next week or just announce the album one week before release.

Posted this in the Violet Metacritic page, but thought it made sense to post here, too.
I really, really want Chemtrails to be released in September, but the problem with Lana is that she doesn't apologize. She doesn't see why people are upset about that stupid IG post, and if she is, she's unwilling to apologize for it.
Part of me respects her for that, because she stands in her mess, and if she feels she was completely misinterpreted, she has the right to feel that way. That said, it's probably going to impact her critically for a while, Chemtrails included. Don't be surprised if we get more mixed/negative reviews this year because of all this dumb drama, unless she addresses it thoroughly in the album.
Critics will use the IG drama to overshadow the quality of the music. Everything she releases this year will be contextualized w/ the current events it was released within, and her actions throughout. It sucks, but it is what it is.

I don't know why they won't just put the whole thing on Spotify. I want to stream the shit out of it.

Sorry to sound slightly hyperbolic, but this poetry album genuinely captures Lana's essence to me. I think all of her albums are TRUE to her in some way, but I really... hear her in this one. The weirdness of her personality is allowed to fully shine through that we once heard in some of her earlier, unreleased work. Don't get me wrong, compared to all the other girls out there, everything Lana does is weird, but the actual, real eccentricity of her personality is on display here. Paired with the slightly ominous, atmospheric background music...
Not everyone's going to love it or get it, but they're not who it was made for. It truly is an incredible piece of work, and I hope she continues to give zero fucks with Chemtrails, because uncompromising Lana is where it's at. -
Violet is amazing. It's so genuinely weird. No other girl is doing shit like this, or would ever have the freedom to. I hope she continues down this rabbit hole with Chemtrails. I want Lana and Jack to let their freak flags fly.

I don't think NFR was that safe. Venice Bitch in general, a 10 minute song as Track 3? Calling the album Norman Fucking Rockwell? The lyrics to Fuck It I Love You? I understand that sonically it's a little more loose and relaxed with not as many dramatic moments, but if you think Lana is safe I can't imagine how boring other artists are in comparison.
That said, I do want her to get completely unhinged on Chemtrails. I want her to be as raw and experimental as she can. She's already in hot water with all the morons on Twitter, she might as well say "Fuck it" and really do what she wants to do.

I think this one, https://store.universalmusic.com/lanadelrey/*/*/Double-Disc-Edition/6L5Q0000000
Double disc bundle so I suppose it's for Violet + COCC
Couldn't that just be a double-disc audiobook (NOT the Jack Antonoff 14 track version)? There's over 30 poems.

I feel like this one isn't real but idk...
If they can't specifically say where the code is found, it's just a fake gay wasting their "life" away. Anyone can look up source code.

Anyone not received a confirmation email from her store yet? I ordered at 12:17, so it’s almost been 3 hours and I haven’t gotten an email I did take a screenshot of the confirmation number and they took the money out of my bank account.
I received a confirmation email for the cream vinyl, I checked my account on the store & it's still active. You should be good?
Do we really think Chemtrails is coming in September? I guess it's still possible. Maybe she'll wait a week or two before launching it. A lot of dorks on the internet are still salty about her IG stuff so I'm a little nervous.

I don't know about you all, but I'm totally IN for an album full of Burnt Nortons.
I ordered the webstore exclusive Cream variant so far, will hold out for more info on the others.

Looks like there are bundles / more exclusives coming?

TEMPORARY Chemtrails Over the Country Club - Pre-Release Thread: OUT March 19th, 2021

Something else that should be considered from that What's On site - the other 2 albums reviewed alongside Lana's are out September 25. I looked up their release dates. So maybe it was always supposed to be Friday the 25th, and not Saturday the 5th...
