  1. Lol yeah let's hope she didn't mean the song noir. I swear to God sometimes I have nightmares about Lana releasing that song
  2. I'm REALLY excited. But... I REALLY hope 'I Can Fly' (which is great for a soundtrack, but wouldn't compare to most of Lana's discography) is not any indication of the rest of the album. Oh well, like I've said before Lana has consistently managed to impress me against the odds so I have faith she'll do the same here. But seriously Lana if you don't go through with that Giorgo Moroder collab you were hinting at I might just unstan for real... ANYWAY... I'm actually on the verge of tears at the thought of Lana covering that beauty of a song. That kind of hate-baiting humour is exactly what critics loved about UV so I'm glad she hasn't completely abandoned the lessons she learnt from this era (although it is weird how quickly she moved on from my fav ever album, I guess it was a smart move commercially because now she gets to release beautiful alternative records like UV then satisfy her label woth a good chart topping summer record soon after! Maybe she'll follow Kanye's footsteps and produce one traditional album, then one experimental album (808's HEARTBREAK) then another traditional (MBDTF) then another experimental (YEEZUS) etc.) Sorry for this long ass post, you can expect a lot of them from now on (as well as the arrival of several newbie's and people that left when UV came out who will now return because our girl is revisiting BTD-ish territorry.) Speaking of which... Mariah stan this must be your dream come true! Maybe a bit less of the whinning this era. That sound reasonable?
  3. Okay. But is he really allowed to send it to you before they've printed the interview? How long will we have to WAIT my dear?
  4. I don't mean to be an impatient stan but...it's "later" right now hun.
  5. NOT MY TURN YET Idk why, but I really want PWYC to lose.

  9. Second favourite album of Lana's (behind UV) But this record has my favourite song of all time: Gramma. It's just so easy to listen to whatever mood I'm in. Idk how to explain it but the chorus can switch from being my defiant anthem, my vulnerable sing along or just my jam. I'm not explaining it well but it just has this quality that can warp itself to suite me at any time.
  10. Well aka is sort of a mix of sugary summer pop and jazz (as the phrase 'surf noir' suggests) and that's really what I predict this record will sound like- Lana going back to her roots. Then again when I first heard the title "Ultraviolence" I was sure Lana was giving us some "Beyoncé" esque dark, ethereal beats with lavish production. She went the other way and still managed to exceed my expectations in terms of quality so I'm past the point of questioning Lana's methods. This bitch can do no wrong.

  12. I'd love her no matter what direction she went as long as it was clear she was still in control of her output (and, of course, as long as I still enjoyed the music) but I'm actually elated at the suggestion she may again explore her "surf noir" genre (still my favourite phrase of hers) as this could lead to some great radio-friendly hits (I'm aware Lana has never prioritised charting but hey I haven't heard a good song on the radio in years, it would be awful generous of her to provide us with a good, well written jam...even if it did mean she'd have to tolerate an increase in those awful tumblr fans she was able to shake off with UV) because I get the feeling her label was just getting more and more irritated with her when she got stubborn (it seems the failings of many great minds was in their backbones) and this may repair her relationship with interscope. It's always inspiring when your idol stands up for themselves but not at the cost of Lana's music. But like I said whatever direction she chooses, I'll be happy as long as she is.
