Well, correct me if I'm wrong but Iggy Azalea isn't going around killing Africans. We were talking about the casual prejudice that's so common in first world countries, which does happen to white people every now and then, but for the most part I agree it's uncommon and so obviously, not nearly as relevant in this discussion. While we're talking about CASUAL bigotry, and not the extremes that you mention, gay marriage is still illegal in 15 states. Yes, racism as a whole is still more prominent than homophobia, but I only brought it up because someone said that only races that have been oppressed are qualified to identify racism, and while I agree that only the particular race being discriminated against is justified in speaking on behalf of their race, white people recognise bigotry as well as any other person. It may not be the most pressing issue facing society, but I WASN'T trying to change the discussion to the oh so challenging issue of prejudice against whites (sarcasm) I just wanted you to understand I recognise bigotry as well as any-other person, many white people have even experienced it to a lesser degree.

Lol as I brought up in that post, racism against all races matters, but prejudice against whites is extremely uncommon. I just thought I should remind people that even if we are privileged in numerous ways we are familiar with oppression and most of us do recognise it. Some of you were suggesting we don't know the first thing about discrimination, which is thoroughly wrong. We're just not as commonly discriminated against, I just brought it up to remind you that, although it isn't exactly my place to identify when someone else is being discriminated against, treating me like some idiot completely unaware of these issues isn't fair at all. If you didn't think my post was relevant you could have ignored it, I don't think anything I said was offensive. I'm not denying that I will never know discrimination like any one black individual, I don't hope to, but I like to think I'm aware enough of it to join in a conversation without someone patronising me like I'm a clueless child. I try to keep up as much I can, I think I deserve to be treated like an adult, but if I'm out of line in anyway here feel free to let me know

Although I agree that white people have, and probably will always be the least oppressed race (mainly due to the fact that we're just larger in number in most first world countries) like it or not there IS such a thing as racism against white people (I'm not going to use the phrase 'reverse racism' because that's one of the most racist expressions I've ever heard) it's definitely not as common as racism against blacks (which in my opinion hasn't really improved for an alarmingly long time) but it exists and I've come across it before. On top of this gay whites experience oppression and bellitlement very frequently (I know quite a few people who have friends of many different colours but that would never dare touch a gay dude lest they get infected, it's funny how christians seem to have forgoten about how the bible condones slavery* but gays are still treated like freaks of nature because a nearly 2000 year old book says so) I agree only the oppressed race should decide when they're being discriminated against, but we recognise racism just as aptly as you guys, most of us. *Leviticus 25: 44-46

I'm kinda behind on the whole Iggy mess, what exactly has she done to attract all this condemning? I'm aware of that "runaway slave master" line (the fact she claims that line was an homage to Kendrick Lamar is fucking hilarious) but is there more to it then that?

  7. I was mainly refering to that one guy that said he was a fan of her music but her image is overdone. I mean I guess you could argue he was sort of insulting her but at the same time anyone could use that example against her because when you read his comments as innocent pieces of advice she comes across as a total spoiled bitch. I understand why the comment offended her, but her reply made her look petulant. I agree with you on the journalist, he knew what he was doing and he knew how people would react, and I totally understand that when people begun condemning her she blamed Tim 'cause as far as she knew this had been his intent. She knew he had evidence though, didn't she? She must of known he had it on tape.

  10. Dark Paradise demo If you've seen my post on the "unpopular lana opinions" thread then you'll know I don't care for the album version but the production on the demo is amazing, the lyrics are much better and even the chorus sounds better despite the same somewhat irritating hook. Plus this verse gives me life: "Come on pretty baby I'll be taking you down. They say you gone crazy like all over town"
  11. Unpopular opinions: Ultraviolence is Lana's most accomplished album to date. Lana Del Ray is probably my second favourite, but if it did get a re-release the reaction would be pretty lukewarm. Born To Die has some great songs, but I mean whoever selected those twelve songs out of all the unreleased candidates is a fucking idiot You Can Be The Boss would have made a STELLAR single. Driving In Cars With Boys is FAR superior to the essence of trite that is Dark Paradise, I mean seriously that could pass for a Lady GaGa song... A SUB-PAR LADY GAGA SONG. Most Lana Del Rey fans are idiots. Like really, the way those pathetic brain dead 12 year old emo wannabes attacked Tim Jonze on twitter and Instagram gave me a disturbing foresight into how easily a communist government could contain our society. People need to start trying to think for their fucking selves, for an intelligent species we sure do act an awful lot like sheep. Come to think of it Lana was pretty childish in responding to Tim as well, she was clearly being quite genuine in that interview, granted she had just completed a record and was probably prepping herself for critical panning at the time, so I can understand her bad mood, but she should have owned up and admitted that what she said she said out of anger and frustration, instead of lashing out at some measly gay journalist that was simply doing his job. Honestly she deserved his comeback 'cause she was being utterly childish. Like bitch, you KNOW you're lying, you KNOW he's got that shit on tape, and you KNOW it's far worse for your reputation to be caught lying than it is to be seen as suicidal, and yet you think it's a brilliant idea to challenge this guy? Lana is extremely talented and a great musician, but it's clear she's quite spoilt. Like sometimes people leave innocent bits of constructive criticism in her you tube comments and she responds with the most bitter, resentful shit she can come up with. TO HER FUCKING FANS. That impatient girl waiting for tropico probably didn't buy Ultraviolence, who knows if she didn't kill herself after that shit with Lana psycho bitch Del Rey? That's not to say Lana can't be sweet as fuck, but yeah when she gets irate she's a total irrational bitch. Also I hate it when people call Lana a bitch, so disrespectful Lana's current hairstyle is beautiful, I prefer it to the auburn tbh. Plus now she's gained weight auburn would just look weird, the black at least makes her look a little slimmer. Honestly the Azealia Banks friendship seems fake as fuck to me. I get that they respect each other as musicians but I feel like Lana probably just feels pressured to talk about Azealia 'cause that girl acts like a total mega fan. Maybe there's more to it then that, but really I think Lana's just scared to get on Azealia's bad side. That being said if they're gonna play pretend friends I would just ADORE a collab between the two, I just feel like their aesthetic visions would work great together. Further evidence that Lana fans are idiots: Those of you hating on the lyrical and melodic MASTERPIECE that is Y&B Damn this tea good

  13. This chorus sounds heavenly, but if it's just "falling apart" repeated over and over again interspersed with demonic hyeena noises and NOTHING ELSE then I won't even bother buying it. Wait For Life sounds like the perfect title for Lana to wax philosophical to some beautiful ethereal production, so if we end up with "Wait for life..... HEEEEEEEYAAAAH Wait for life"
  14. Someone make a proper translation of this shit right now
  15. No, but my sister does (she has one of those long faces that looks weird with short hair) Do you own any traumatic memories? Care to share them with the boards?
  16. Thank you, but Jesus christ Google translate is terrible "The confession could stink up the wretched pathos but laugh that speaks concludes the mental strength of Miss del Rey it down to earth and does not seem in danger of skidding" I feel like this is some kind of clue to who killed Laura Palmer. Moving on... TEN FUCKING SONGS? Kinda disappointed that talk with Giorgio Moroder doesn't seem to have gone anywhere but no matter, this sounds fucking cool!
  17. Oh right yeah sorry I meant the article. Or just a basic description of what it says. So... Has she said for sure she's making a new record?
  18. ... Could someone translate the interview for me?
  19. Fixed it for ya Supposedly the name of a duet with Brian Wilson on his upcoming record "No Pier Pressure" but there's been no news on this for months.
  20. So this is really happening? Next on the wish list: Wait For Life Last Song Azealia Banks collab (I can dream )

Really guys? I'm actually shocked no one's made a thread for this innovative genius. You guys have no fucking taste http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=unRldLdllZ8 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DT34ywZi22g http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5AHpKjE-wY8 Lana Del Who? This guy's changing the face of rap music, of music in general, I legit think he could be the next Tupac Jackson Novum. In an age of Frank Ocean, Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Kanye West, FKA Twigs, Azealia Banks, St Vincent, The Weeknd, The XX, Kendrick Lamar, Sky Ferreira & Bon Iver it's nice to see SOMEONE'S still making some real music.
