  1. At this point, I'm just going to send her a check for $100.00 and tell her to send me anymore unreleased songs directly. Just keep taking my money, Lana!
  2. Okay, this is going to be a bit of a stretch here, but is it at all possible that the Jim she is referring to in this song, is not a person, but Jim Beam whiskey? We know she has a penchant for writing about her first love, alcohol and this could really fit. "He hit me and it felt like a kiss" could easily refer to her drinking too much and the aftermath of blacking out, but at the time it felt good...like a kiss. "He hurt me, but it felt like true love" could also fit into the alcohol theory. When you're an addict and totally dependent on alcohol, drugs, etc you don't realize how much pain it brings you. Like I said, I could be completely off with my theory, but I don't think this is a song pertaining to Jimmy Gnecco.
  3. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't think SOC is about Barrie. I am positive that BB is about Barrie, but SOC just doesn't add up (in my mind). I just can't picture Barrie sleeping around with other women....I think he just sits at home and keeps to himself.
  4. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure I read somewhere that they met in a strip club in NYC. Do we really think she cheats on Barrie with all these guys though? And how fucking awkward must it be for him to sit there and listen to his girlfriend/fiancee/whatever she is to him sing about her ex lover who is currently on tour with her?! I kind of feel bad for him. I mean from what I gather, they do love each other, but damn, how much can this guy take? Lanz needs to start singing about her current man..... Apparently they wrote "Brooklyn Baby" together, so I'm interested to hear that one.
  5. I was ready to pay 3,000.00 to meet this woman in Austin for ACL fest in October, but realized that having to be homeless (or legit moving into a trailer park) because I decided to meet Lana instead of paying 2 months of my rent was not in my best interest (sadly). That said, she better come on tour again because that shit was magical.
  6. Crazy, right? I haven't been back to Delray for years, but I remember Atlantic Ave very well. We would go hang out at the rehab and halfway houses and then go to the beach lol. I had such an interesting childhood. Yes, I did go to the Miami show!! Did you?
  7. Calling it now: this song is about her, Barry, and their topiary pony
  8. Hey fellow Palm Beacher I KNEW she had connections with Delray Beach! My mom and aunt went to rehab in Delray and there is a huge rehab community there. I remember visiting the rehab bungalows that are set really close to the beach. When I first started reading about Lana and her story, my initial thought was "she must have visited Delray once or twice for the rehab community and it sparked her name inspiration," especially when I found out how much time she had spent in Miami. The whole thing makes sense to me now.....wonder who the ex boyfriend was....
  9. This is one of my favorite Lana songs to cover. It's so much fun to sing and it is insanely clever. The expression on people's faces as they listen to the lyrics are to die for You can just see them go from "what a cute song" to "wait..what?!"
  10. The only reason I will ever watch another Kardashian wedding on E! is if I can see Lana perform. Somehow I don't see Lana sticking around and hanging out with the Kardashian Klan after her performance...I see this being a "sing and leave" type thing, but who knows. Good for her; Kimye could have had anyone and they wanted Lana, thats a pretty big compliment to her.
  11. I didn't understand what the lyrics were to the paradise version of Yayo for over a year...Seriously I only recently heard the original version of Yayo and the lyrics were completely different than what I thought she was saying. I must say that I do like the original version, but the paradise version makes me cringe. I love her dark hair. It's the same color as mine, so that might have a lot to do with it I'm not a fan of WC. I've listened to it plenty, but it's not one of my favorites. It seems like she's trying too hard to please mainstream America. I love the relationship she has with Barrie. That Summer Wine video melted me and I think they're adorable together, but I wish that he would invest a little bit more time into his appearance. Homeless Barrie ain't cutting it for me.
  12. I started listening to her at the end of 2011 or early 2012. One of my friends saw the music video for National Anthem and forwarded it to me with the note, "did you write and direct this and not tell anyone?" I watched the video and it was instant love lol. What really stuck out to me was her fashion in the photo shoots- it was like she was playing dress up with my dream clothes. I listened to all of her other songs as well and kept them playing for a while. I was in my senior year of college and would listen to her songs every morning on my way to my internship. I loved her music, but never bothered to research who she was until a few months ago when I discovered that my Dad actually loved her too. He is a doctor and actually plays her music while operating because he has said that it "soothes the patients" lol. Anyways, I started researching Lana a few months ago and I was shocked that her story was so similar to mine. From her appearance (the lips..everyone constantly questioning if they were fake) to the whole deal with people saying that she "bought her way into the industry with help from daddy," I could totally relate to this girl. It was like seeing my life played out on paper....what really got me though, was her background with alcohol and drug abuse. I have been in recovery for several years and to hear her speak about her own struggle really made me love her even more. Our stories are eerily similar and I just feel that I have this connection to her, despite never meeting her. I don't think that there is one song that I've listened to or interview that I've read of hers where I haven't felt like I knew exactly what she was talking about. The music honestly makes me feel better about myself and encourages me to keep going down the path that I created for myself. I recently was lucky enough to see her perform in Miami in April. I wasn't able to meet her (because people were crazy and trampled security), but I did get to talk with a lot of other fans and that was eye opening for me as well. I had no idea that Lana had such a large fan base, and it wasn't til I started googling for some more articles, that I found this board (which I have really enjoyed reading ). Honestly, I don't see myself getting tired of her or her music because they are something I relate to (but then again, I also listen to multiple other artists as well). Her writing has actually inspired me to start writing again and I'm now working on a book that I started years ago, but never had the courage to finish.
  13. Loved this interview and her responses. I feel like prom song has a whole new meaning for me now. I can't believe that's what Gene looks like now....kind of ruined it for me lol
  14. I haven't really thought it out that far tbh. I just have this feeling that her PR team is going to do something to draw up a lot of publicity. It just seems odd to me that the wrong dates for WC, the wrong uploads to vevo, and robs vague twitter answers are all coincidental. It certainly got people talking, which is good because her name is out there. I don't know, I'm just speculating.
  15. I am so excited for this track list. BB is one of my favorites and I am dying with anticipation to hear FMWUTTT. That said...... Do you think that the track list was released on accident prior to when Lana's team was anticipating releasing it? It just seems like her team and management doesn't have their shit together right now, which is sad. Why would Amazon France be the first to release that info before Lana made the official announcement. The whole thing seems a little off to me, which makes me wonder if some sort of large publicity stunt is going to occur the first week of June or right before the album drops.... Anyone else think something similar might happen? WC is doing really well in the US, but I feel like they might try to do something to give it an extra push for more sales.
  16. Not sure if this helps you, but lana didn't take the stage until 9 pm in Miami. Her opener had a full hour to himself. Not sure if this helps you, but lana didn't take the stage until 9 pm in Miami. Her opener had a full hour to himself.
  17. I went to the show in Miami, which was somewhat of a "smaller" venue. I drove by the venue at 9 AM and there were already at least 50 people in line (granted, this was a Sunday). I finally made it back to the venue around 1 and there were maybe 200ish people waiting? What ended up happening is that when the doors finally opened, security got trampled and people lost their ever loving minds and the venue line became a free for all. Somehow people who had just been dropped off were getting into the venue before people who stood in line. It was a mess and really dangerous actually. None of this was Lana's managements fault, but the venue had no idea how to prepare for this. My tickets were for GA, but by the time we got down to the floor, there were already way too many people who continued to push and shove and it was dangerous. I made friends with several of the security guards around me and they were kind enough to put me in the seats under a reserved section I wasn't up by the stage, but I did get to see everything and lana was still somewhat close. Her voice is fucking fantastic live and I would love to see her perform again. Have fun!
  18. If any of you know where that striped sunhat in the national anthem video is from, I'd be forever grateful! Even just the brand would be nice. I've been searching for years! Oh and in case anyone was curious, lana has been wearing her "Sabrina" loafers by sperry a lot while on tour currently. I saw her in Miami and she had the navy blue ones on, but was wearing the ivory ones at Coachella. I have both pairs as well (pure coincidence) and they are SUPER comfy to walk around in.
