The point is that you minimise the risk as much as possible by not encouraging people to gather unnecessarily. This did the opposite. The US is a mess rn precisely because of this attitude.

There's no point even highlighting what a disastrous idea an in-person book signing is in the middle of a pandemic because there absolutely are stans who would happily get rona (and potentially give it to others) just to get a signed book. As an Australian whose country has largely kept rona under control by implementing fairly tough restrictions, I'm smh Will withhold judgement 'til she announces how it'll actually be organised, though.
