Yeah, I get that. I don't think it was intentional pandering if it was pandered a bit, but I do think she knew while she was making it that it would do well. And it deserved to 100%

Something else that I think is gonna be prominent, and already is, in this album is gonna be the fact that NFR was her most critically acclaimed album yet (even if not directly). It's my favorite Lana album right now, but she basically said that it was somewhat pandering to the general public and that she knew people would like it. The fact that it was one of her safest albums lyrically and did amazing in terms of reception, whereas other albums that were more bold were trashed, seems to have really frustrated her. And then you have the fallout in spring-summer 2020 after being loved by the general public. The lyric "They built my up 300 feet tall just to tear me down" in Arcadia felt so telling and emotional to me, so I think there's gonna be more lyrics like that in the album as a whole. Sorry for the essay lol. This has been on my mind since Wednesday and I just wanted to share

I'm looking forward to comparing the themes in Text Book and Sweet Carolina. I always love seeing where the album starts and where it ends. And I know it was already mentioned, but the fact that she mentions looking for the father she wanted back in TB and then ends the album with a song co-written by Rob is just so sweet. This album feels like it's gonna be a journey through the past few years of Lana's life

I didn't think it would at first, but after listening to the first four tracks of the album, it's works surprisingly better than I expected. I still think that BB or WW would've been the better choice, but Text Book is actually a pretty good opener too. And it goes right into BB really well.

I kind of feel like it's gonna be a sneak attack song. The title being so vague is gonna make us think it's nothing special, but then it's gonna blindside us and the song will be incredible

Lana's vocals now > Lana's vocals in 2011-2012. At least to me, she sounds a lot more in control of her voice now and I personally think it sounds better (and I think that if she went for certain vocal stylings now that she did then like MDM live vocals or even the baby voice, it would still sound better today than it did 10 years ago)

Even if the album doesn't do absolutely amazing commercially, I think it's gonna be loved by critics. Arcadia already got great reception in that field and I know the singles at least somewhat did too

I've honestly never understood the genuine hatred for Nikki. Like sure, BUS isn't my favorite Lana song ever by a long shot, but it wouldn't be even if it was a solo Lana song. And I don't think it's fair to act like Lana never had an interest in country before she met Nikki (have you heard how she pronounces certain words in some of her acoustic demos? Looking @ you Elvis). Nikki seems nice enough and if Lana enjoys her company, that's all that matters to me. I think some people on here are just very anti-country, so they don't like Nikki.

I already know that IYLDWM is gonna be amazing. I mean, look at Lana's track 6 record: National Anthem, Gods & Monsters, Sad Girl, Freak, Summer Bummer, Love song, and and DBJAG. It's gonna be a sultry song for sure (and don't tell me Love song doesn't have even a hint of sultry-ness it's kind of about car sex)

It starts off with a white bathing suit during the day time and the intro of the song, but then it transitions to Lana running across the beach at midnight in a black bathing suit

I'm hoping that she will be. It feels like this year's Met was made for her almost. And I think it would be a smart move with the album coming next month I also just love everything she's ever worn to the Met Gala and need to see what she does next

Diet Mountain Dew, West Coast and Doin Time are also track 5s, Black Bathing Suit bop of century confirmed

I have nothing better to do right now so here's my prediction for my top five: 1. Black Bathing Suit 2. Sweet Carolina 3. Dealer 4. If You Lie Down With Me 5. Thunder

For some reason, I have a feeling that Beautiful is gonna be really underrated. I don't know why (maybe it's because of the simple title) but it's giving off the same energy as Bartender and GBA in terms of treatment/recognition

Do we think anything else is happening this month? It'll be interesting to see if Lana has anything else up her sleeve for September

Based on all of the descriptions of the song he's given so far, Thunder is looking like it's gonna be at least top five for me. Maybe even top three

Thunder with strings??? I can't even imagine it because it just seems so perfect So looking forward to hearing the build up in it (to be honest, the version we have right now is just sort of stays at one level the entire song, so it'll be cool to hear that changed)

Do we think Niko and Topanga are gonna get a namedrop on the album like Tex and Mex did? Where were they while Tex and Mex were in the bay? I mean, the dogs even got the album cover #JusticeForNikoAndTopanga
