I think Your Girl could actually go along with them if the album also includes Thunder. But yeah, Serene Queen will not happen until she goes back to a more pop-ish record again

Y'all are so overdramatic with this "listen to it like you listened to Video Games". I'm sure most of you were not in some emotional American Beauty bathtub-situation when you first heard it but sat in a car on your way home back from Burger King dipping A chicken nugget into the hot sauce

I hope there will be information about the tracklist and album release date and that it won't be another PMLYLAW/ MAC situation

An album with Textbook, Wildflower and Thunder on it sounds like heaven! The song-greedy-bitches can choke. -

It's most likely a haux but if it's not and the album is dropping, the last thing on my mind would be moaning about her sales -

I could actually see it getting some attention if she chose to release it as a buzz single -

It's trying really hard to be meaningful, edgy and dark but well .. it's a Halsey album, so that's probably what one has to expect. I feel like the whole album would have been much better if she would accept that you don't always have to be all over the place to make an impact. Tracks like 1121 or Ya'arbournee for example would have been much nicer without the oversinging. you can really her how she forces herself to sound MEANINGFUL. The "rock" tunes like You Asked For This, Easier Than This and honey feel kinda dated. Like something Avril Lavigne or Paramore would have done back in the day. IMO the more "laid back" moments of those songs - mostly the verses - are much more interesting than the wannabe-badass choruses. The Lighthouse on the other hand is such a strong song and - honestly - the only one that actually fits the aesthetics she teased for this album. I really adore the combination of raw guitar, cool-cat-vocals and the melodic chorus. I feel like this approach would have worked much better than the whole "former Disney teenstar gone mainstream-rock in the early 2000s"-sound. Lilith is another track I enjoy, it's pretty groovy and apart from the edgelord lyrics it's not going out of it's way to be sPecIaL.

I doubt that. Because in that case he would KNOW it's a demo/outtake from another era. As of now, he just said that there was a song with a Barrie credit so he SUPPOSES that this is an old track. -

BoZ never confirmed it's an UV outtake, he just said that there is a track that credits Barrie, so he assumes it's from that time -

If they are already at a point where they have specific details like a target exclusive cover, I doubt we will have to wait much longer. -

DON'T! Btw what makes us think that the "recycled" songs have all actually leaked? Maybe BoZ just knows they are older demos cause he's an insider an we have never heard them (apart from Thunder and Cherry Blossom). Dealer would be an "old" track for example -

This is really not nearly as sassy and cool as you think it is -
So - the album is out in two days but there are still no reviews on it? Has any insider said anything? The visuals look stunning (although the movie script will likely be a cringefest) and even since the music heard in the trailers does not really seem to live up to it, it still sounded like some pretty nice alt-pop-tunes. I'd love to get some more information on this!

Nah it was not directed at you. If we can believe the "insiders", she's been coming back to YTH and FC for every album ever since UV - so I think it's not an old idea but something that she just has not finished yet. I see your point - especially after the lackluster stuff on CoCc - but maybe she's just at a place where she is comfortable with revisiting older ideas and giving them a finishing touch. If BOZ is correct she had plenty of new tracks - which she scrapped. -

Even though the modern pop industry pushes the concept of music only having value if it's "fresh" and "new", it's completely normal that artists keep ideas/concepts/songs around for a long time before releasing them. -

An akbum with 6 leaked songs will probably still be better than CoCC -
Unpopular opinion but I think Fallen Fruit is the least interesting song on this record

The album really grew on me and I enjoy it a lot now, I still understand the harsh criticism though. The concept had so much more potential but she decided to play it safe and fill up the middle part with "the usual kind of Lorde stuff"-songs.

The "Arcadia" snippet does nothing for me. I'm really hyped for the new album because the triple-singles got me excited, but that snippet sounds super boring to me

I feel like this album would have been much better of she would have been more consequent with the concept of "laid back, summery songs that poke fun at upper class wellness cults". I really dig that concept and when you press play on the album and get the 1-2-3-punch of The Path, Solar Power and California it's very tangible, both sonically and lyrically. But then the middle part of the album is dominated by 4 gloomy, ballad-ish tracks (Stoned, Fallen Fruit, Axe, Big Star) where Lorde stays in her comfort zone. While those make up only 1/3 of the album they still kind of hit the breaks on its momentum and drown out other tracks like Secrets or Dominoes (which aren't particularly strong songs to begin with) We then return to the concept with the last 3 tracks. Mood Ring is the smartest song on this album in my opinion. The faux-upbeat sound combined with the lyrics make it hit so much harder than any of the stripped back ballads. After the record ends, it feels like we're only left with the frame of a very intriguing concept-album, which has a blind spot in its middle. After listening to the bonus songs I feel like they should have been on the standard edition and would have been a good opportunity to mix up the middle section of the record.

The Path has such a delicate instrumental but the lyrics and her vocal delivery are so bland..
